I bought one for each of mine earlier this year and I can double check the packaging when I get home. I haven’t used them (bought for camping) yet so I can’t comment on quality.

Most things that block sun offer significant UV protection. I’ve never tanned through clothing. If the fly sheet is very loose weave mesh it can’t give that much UV protection but it will.guve some just by virtue of the material.

I might want to wait until we know what sort of skin infection she has. She also has a few stitches that come out in ten days. Another question for the vet. Meanwhile, I’ll measure her for size.

Vet called! No skin biopsy results yet, but we’re taking some of the round pen panels and making her a temporary paddock in the shade, just in case of photosensitivity. No fly or UV sheet yet because of her skin. She’s getting her first round of vaccines on Friday. Still standing by for the results, but she was intrigued about the improvement seen since we used Ultraboss.

Heading outside now to measure her for a future fly sheet and haul those panels around.

(Can I just say that I appreciate your willingness to gracefully accept suggestions? Everyone on the internet has an opinion and wants to share them. Myself most definitely included. Thanks for acknowledging our attempts to help with tact, and for continuing to share info! I’m really looking forward to watching her turn into the healthy horse she should be! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:)

70-72ish…maybe. Get what fits her now, “ room for growth” means too loose a fit with excess that gets stepped on when they get up from rolling or caught on gate latches. Remember the sheets are much, much, lighter then a blanket. No weight to help it stay put. Sheets are, comparably, cheap.

Thank you! I’ve had horses for about 35 years, but if we combine forces, we have hundreds of years of experience invested in this sweet mare’s well being. The internet at its best. Hugs to you all!

Okay, dragging the boy away from watching Star Wars so we can play with panels.

I’ll bet you’re right, lol!

She’s size 66 right now. :slightly_frowning_face:

We moved her and the others into shade.

She’s still just as far away from the others as before, but everyone has shade. We used this area last year when it got really hot, but we didn’t have the stalls. Now they have stalls to go in at night for soft beds. Except Matilda. We’ll have to wait to see what sort of icky she has on her skin.

She looks great!
Is that Polly in #3?

Good eye! Yep. She supervised our efforts. Ralph watched from afar in judgment.

That looks like a nice, soft, shady spot. Love all the big trees, too!

Matilda also looks very interested in the go-ings-on. She just looks like she feels better. I am sure some company will help when she passes QT.

She’s about the same distance from them as before. We took her out of the round pen to break it down. She had to stand tied while we worked. She got to go into her paddock as soon as it was set up and then we moved the rest of the panels to set up the other. She did a lot of rushing around and head flipping with impatience. She settled down when we brought the others in.

It’s a 69, but I thought I would share this:

I have this specific sheet and found it runs very small. A couple of my mares are reliably a 69” in multiple brands, and this fit like a mini blanket on them. It’s absolutely a steal of a deal, but if you buy it I’d recommend upsizing, especially if Matilda has a “tall” torso

Awesome! The vet says wait for now until her skin heals up. Hopefully, we’ll be ordering that soon.

Any word from the vet about the results of the punch biopsy?
