Amber Parr
see her FB, she claims to have dated him. Cray cray, imo.
Oh.Never mind. I am not a member of Face Book.
Who is Amber Parr???
The ranch houses are scattered along a road - not jammed together, but there were cabins where we stayed.
It is a typical ranch road, not too heavily used.
Mention is made for the large tunnel under the road taking horses and cattle up to the other side of the ranch as the road bisects it.
Well, we’re not entitled to know, but it’d be nice to know when & where Ben was last seen. 2 or 10, Saturday?,
I also am fairly close to this area and have been watching the updates, but am not familiar with this ranch (other than it’s name and history). This case does pull at the heartstrings, as it hits close to home with many of us. How often do people like us go out riding, alone? Sometimes it happens regularly, with some people. I don’t do the “cowboy thing”, so I, personally, am not in this situation. But I know people who are, and who do this… go out alone, in winter, looking for cows.
I think that this tragedy just shows the necessity to keep safety in mind, no matter how experienced a rider/horseman/cowboy you may be. To NOT go out alone into a situation like this. To always go with another rider, just in case something happens. Your chances for survival may depend on this.
My condolences to the family. We were hoping for a better outcome.
According to her FB she had ONE datenight with BT. Her new post says she cooked a steak dinner and…
I don’t think this is the last time he was seen.
I believe he met with someone out in backwoods who picked him off. Maybe cattle rustlers? Game poachers?
Maybe they buried him and he’ll never be found.
Some locals say searchers didn’t really look off the trails, pretty much followed trails. If this is the case, I can
understand how he didn’t get found.
Well we don’t know if he ever rode that day. Who trailered him?
I don’t think this is an accident.
There’s lots of snow up there right? Sadly if he fell into a tree well it might take until everything melts to find him Those things are very deep, deeper than probes can go…there was a dr in Whitefish that disappeared last winter, and they sadly didn’t find his body until the snow melted. Turned out, he wasn’t even very far from where he’d gone missing from…it’s just so hard in winter!
I hope it’s not fowl play, but whatever the outcome, it’s so very sad!
Hope they check out the women he dated. Jmo. Rumors are flying about the one chick. Some rumors contain truth.
Tree well. Never heard the term before. Looked it up. Scary! Because you might actually want to try to stand under a tree in some situations.
I hadn’t heard of it, either. Obviously, I don’t live in a snowy area. What a frightening possibility.
They are nasty, it’s the reason I no longer ski in the trees when I’m downhill skiing. Too many people fall, go into one and end up suffocating…you cannot get yourself right side up and people just a few trees away cannot see you! If they don’t hear you,you will not get out! That’s the one reason they’ll always say, ski in pairs and stay in sight of each other!
If a person were out in the wilderness and didn’t know, and you’d had a few drinks, you could easily decide to go by a tree to pee, the snow gives way and down you go. It’s too soft to climb out, so if you’re really unlucky you’ll freeze or suffocate…
Tree wells: depends on the location. In ski country, with a lot of snow: dangerous/deadly. Elsewhere they can be used as shelter. Obviously they are diffferent under differing conditions.
There is a Facebook page “Missing - Ben Tyner”.
By scrollling you will find extensive information on what to do when in trouble oudtoors, re cell phone use, etc.and being non-speculative.
Found this re falling into a tree. New information to me. Thanks for the safety tips. I vacation ski, but had never heard of this.
Sad there’s still no news.
Sad no news but there may not be news for months or even years depending on what has happened
It can take years…knew of people that were in a plane that went down in the Kootnays decades ago…they THINK they may have found the correct wreckage about 10 years ago, so one lone man on foot (either by his design or that of someone else) is going to be tough to find.
Unfortunately, we don’t know if Ben really went riding. Did he fall victim to foul play at NR & his horse was “staged”, in effort to imply Ben had a riding accident. There seems to be more to this story…
You have made several comments along these lines, it feels almost like clickbait. Do you have more information or is this just your own theory?
