For good reasons, which you are not owed explanation (I am) - I’m not actually allowed to comment on why this whole bronze medal thing is a dispute - as it’s now part of a criminal & civil investigation. Your obsession over one score is more than catty. It’s downright pathetic.

Surely, YOU can read & clearly be able to see ALL scores earned were in fact at Two separate shows, 2 different rides etc. If my “professional, Olympic level,” trainer didn’t make sure - absolutely sure- the second show (where I rode another Second level test & I believe, two First 3 tests for Regionals) didn’t have the same judge as the day before - the question will be asked why that was. Entries are expensive as are stalls. Especially if numerous horses of mine are being shown. Since the ONLY reason we stayed for the second show the following day, (at least in my mind & according to MB’s own words) was to “quickly collect my last score at Second - then never visit it again” I sincerely hope he can answer for that. Staying an extra day to show a level in front of the same judge would have been pointless. Unless, their motive was to keep to my paid for tack stall for his working students the next day. Further, when I posted on FB “bronze medal done,” it was literally on top of a post I shared from MH fb page which read, verbatim - “Huge congratulations to our newly minted Bronze medalist, Lauren Kanarek.” (It’s from June. Easy to find - unless she deleted it. We have screenshots, though.I’m sure you can scroll & find it easily.) Is SHE a liar? Or just unqualified to properly train students? (Perhaps, both!) Same goes for JH. Obviously, the show managers will be questioned as well. Why have two separate shows if the judges for the classes from the day before are the same? Can’t earn two Regionals scores that way! But I digress…

Yes… I expect many questions will require answers. Especially the big one. “Why does Cassandra D claim she earned her Silver medal, when she refused to ride as a pro, but as an AA? She’s 28. She’s been an employee of the barn for 3 years … That makes her a pro. You surely realize this is a huge violation & is considered cheating on every level. It even comes with the consequence of the stripping of that medal, entirely. So, again, plenty of questions will require answers. In court. If after this dispute, I learn I need to ride any Second level test once more- (regardless of the con artistry which we believe was done on purpose - unless there was a judge change last minute) well, I’m sure I’ll get around to it at some point. As of now, I’m working on finishing Silver until we resolve a number of unanswered questions. None of which concern you. FYI- it’s not like achieving BRONZE is some huge feat. After all, as MB would say constantly, “no one cares about medals. No one cares about any tests except for PSG & GP. More specifically, International GP.” So… is he a liar? Or just an irresponsible trainer? (Or, perhaps- both?) We shall see! It must be contagious at his barn, among the staff to either cheat knowingly or blatantly disregard USEF rules. Till then, I will do exactly as my attorneys advise. Your strangely, obsessive stalking has been noted! I find it creepy. So should you.

What makes me wonder “how much is there,” in your headspace, is your accusation “like, she defends it.” Please post a link to ANY statement ive made which “defends it.” It’s not my job to defend it. It’s the job of the trainers whom I hired to specifically choose my entries to defend it. My job (as an AA) is to ride the tests chosen for me & my horses and produce a certain score. So, again, solve the “conundrum,” and post here - where in any way I have defended something it’s not my job to “defend.” (As it pertains to the score of a medal) Do that- or stop wasting space here. Thanks!

What is it, 1:00AM stateside? Glad to know we’re that important in the wee hours of the morning.

I cannot believe that someone would really create a lawsuit over a Bronze medal. I’d just go out and show one more test at second under a different judge myself. It’s not that hard. End of dispute. It’s not like it’s an Olympic qualification event someone missed out on.

I get that the trainer might have mislead the client, but there is also this self responsibility thing. You know, where the client could also have a clue or take initiative. You know, self educate a bit. Which, IMO, is necessary for one to climb the levels anyway. But I do understand some clients are extremely dependent and literally just show up, ride, and that’s it. Everything else is taken care of. A professional should lead their clients correctly, but unfortunately this is not always the case. I think it’s completely weird that MB, MH, or ABC (I don’t know, I lost track) said that a Bronze Medal was accomplished. Then again this whole crowd is completely weird.

I don’t know if anyone was purposely mislead [edit], but what are the actual damages one can sue for? I guess the costs of that one competition? Not worth it to me, but our competition costs here may be less. But. I understand the principle of the matter, and if one has time on their hands, what else is there to do? Might as well.

If this is part of a larger case, then that is a bit more understandable. I also get when one cannot earn their own money via an actual job or career, so they have to collect in other ways. Of course they’re going to try to sue the pants off anyone that looks their way.

Also odd about the, “unless there is a judge change last minute” um, this hints that the judge is in your pocket. What would happen if there was a change of judge? Hm. Well, when you’re going on BS, you gotta have the right judge.

I also wonder, why someone who doesn’t care what us Plebs think, keeps coming back to post. Or revives a thread. The desperate for attention and need to get whatever half truths out there is getting stale.

”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹”‹I feel for someone getting shot, but all the other surrounding BS and dramatics… Well, not my style, but I understand that there is some sub layer of the population that operates this way. Most of us cannot wrap our heads around it, so this in turn is what makes the whole cluster mildy entertaining, frustrating, and point of discussion. Interesting look for the sport, that’s for sure!

Edit: but, Idk, what would others do if they were “mislead” about achieving their Bronze? Or would it not happen to others so much due to being aware of the qualifications? Hm. I could possibly see some contract about hiring x person to do all the leg work for me to complete Bronze. And some breach of contract/not performing said contract. But there has to actually be a contract.

Still think the whole American amateur/professional divide is weird. I just show up (technically an ammy) and compete against who ever else shows up. We don’t have this divide. Ride your best test. The end.
”‹”‹”‹”‹
But still, what IS the actual motivation behind telling someone they got their Bronze when they in fact did not?

A criminal investigation into a bronze USDF medal? You’re kidding, right?

I mean…if it is part of building character or the piling on in a larger suit…ok, maybe.

The thing is, there is this concept called, “the burden of proof” so one has to proove that MB conned LK. Or that he was purposely misleading a client, or violating some sort of agreement.

As a professional, an “Olympic Rider” as he claims, I have no idea why this “mistake” would be made or why he’d lead a client to believe she acheived her Bronze, when in fact she did not. For a tack stall? That sounds kind of…lame. As I said before, I get that someone pays for the services and expertise, but do your homework. Educate yourself a bit so you are not taken for a ride, and have some control. It could be considered criminal to “con” clients, but again, proof…and I think this is part of something larger.

As with this whole ordeal, it is likely that we will never know all of the actual (true) details. We have an unreliable narrorator, and aren’t privy nor entitled to some of the info.

But yes, I wouldn’t start a criminal investigation purely based on not acheiving my Bronze under this trainer…partially due to my own ignorance and partially due to the trainers incompetence and/or shady ways.

If this person is illiterate and cannot read the rules and can prove that the trainer knew they couldn’t read? Still a long shot.

The “Partially Bronzed” tag below the screen name kind of jumps out, doesn’t it?

it appears to be very important to her to defend that to strangers on the internet… including via P.M. on COTH.

Except I have to say how I am sad how she thinks she really does have a bronze medal. Like she defends it. What is wrong with her, that she can’t read the rules and figure out for herself that she doesn’t qualify?

Is that catty? No, that’s not catty. Its fact. Its a real conumdrum. How is it that she doesn’t understand that? Its that kind of thing which makes you wonder how much is really there.[/QUOTE

Not catty and thank you for wanring to preserve my sactuary of COTH!!! 😘😘

I have no idea how dressage works but yes people should only claim what they actually won if they actually won it I have not gotten a ribbon for anything since I was probably 14 so I’m completely out of the game . I did Hunter jumpers locally when I was younger and I am just a backyard Barn mom now so this is more of my escape from My Life than anything haha.

I will say I hate that she got shot, there are always other options but then again I hate violence. The same doctor that had to tell me my mother was dead was one that had to see me in the ER a year later over a domestic violence and my eardrum being blown out. I don’t care how bi+$hy anyone is no one deserves to get a bullet put into their body unless they were a rapist or murderer themselves.

Carry on!!! 😁😁😁

Curious - is it normal in big training programs in the US for the trainer to pick the rider’s classes and for the rider to just show up and ride them? And not to be the one filling out the entry forms, checking the prize list and day sheets to see who the judge is, tracking scores earned etc?

I’m in a full training program but my trainer expects that each of us will handle our own paperwork, ensure we have the correct memberships, etc. The first thing we do before a show is create a list of all the ride times, rings, and judges for everyone showing from our barn so we can make sure there aren’t any conflicts, mistakes, etc.

I find it incredible that if a rider was staying an extra day at a show simply to earn a needed score, she wouldn’t check as soon as the ride times were published to make sure that score would count. But maybe that’s the norm in the US?

Actually I kind of do wish this thread would be shut down as well. All this has been beaten to death on the other thread, there is no new information, and the resurrection of zombie threads by an attention seeker is just getting old.

Or at least realize when competing that it was the same judge, and make plans to do another class at that level at your next competition, instead of crowing to the world that you did get your bronze medal while simultaneously launching a “criminal and civil investigation” over the trainer “misleading” you?

And what’s with the lying about sending out facebook friend requests? When someone lies about completely trivial things, I find it hard to believe a single word they say.

Me too i wish if it would be shut down

I agree with this.

I was thinking about the whole Facebook friend request thing. Mulling over the ‘why would someone lie about that’ thought. The only reason I can think of is that it truly matters to some people that all those people on Facebook wanted to be their friend. If they insist that all their friends asked to be their friend (instead of them sending out friend requests to anyone and everyone) it must mean that all those people think they are friend worthy.

Someone probably posted this in the other thread:

https://www.usdf.org/awards/performa…zeMedal&Level=

Per the closing post on the other thread, we’re going to close this topic until there are significant developments in the case reported on by a reputable news source or undergone through the legal system.
