If you read the case law, in the case that was reversed, both the judge and Bilinkas made mistakes- the court in reversing, if my memory is accurate, (??) pointed out that Bilinkas did not raise the issue in the first instance and the judge missed it…But of course at this point I cant even remember the name of the case…to look it up and refresh my memory…

Yes, that’s what I remember. Judge Taylor incorrectly instructed the jury that the defendant had a duty to retreat before shooting in self defense, and Bilinkas as the defense lawyer could have challenged the judges jury instructions at the time, but didn’t. His client was convicted of murder.

A public defender then filed an appeal on the grounds that Taylor was incorrect in instructing the jury that the defendant had a duty to retreat, and the conviction was overturned. The defendant then accepted a plea deal rather than go through a second trial.

My point was to disagree with @eggbutt characterization of the appeal as Bilinkas “whooping” Taylor. Bilinkas screwed up and a different lawyer, a public defender, got the conviction overturned.

How is any home owner going to get permits for an unlicensed contractor to do the work?

They’re not. A homeowner who undertakes a permitted renovation will hire a licensed contractor.

Everyone is young and stupid at some point in time. When people don’t seem to learn from their experiences is when it becomes a problem.

I don’t think it’s nice to drag the siblings into this. They’ve not come on COTH and been foolish like JK, KK and LK have, and they had nothing to do with Barisone matter like RG did.

Taylor totally disregarded the Krol guidelines and procedures and you know it. But, hey, it’s NJ where the law and procedures don’t have to be followed! Taylor seems to have “little man syndrome” and likes to abuse his power. Of course Bilinkas giving him a whooping for the 2nd time didn’t help his fragile ego.

The bottom line is Michael is safe from harm from LK, RG and JK at this point. Of course no place is as safe as Barisone South will be for him.

No, I do not know that Taylor disregarded the Krol guidelines, @eggbutt.

How has Bilinkas “given him a whopping” once, much less twice? The Vertitas conviction was overturned in an appeal handled by a public defender. Bilinkas did not win or even pursue the appeal.

Taylor accepted the jury’s verdict on MB as NGRI. The verdict says nothing personal about Taylor.

@CurrentlyHorseless, if you do not know that Taylor disregarded the Krol guidelines and how Taylor disregarded the Krol guidelines then you have clearly not bothered to read these threads.
Or you are playing a game, which is far more likely what is going on here because even you are not so clueless to not know that and the other things you are claiming to not know.

Here is a little list for you…so you can know how wrong you are:

Michael didn’t get his initial hearing in 30 days.

Judge Taylor opened the hearing to public despite NJ’s rules.

Judge Taylor ignored the experts’ testimony and ruled based on a footnote from someone who was not there to be cross-examined.

Judge Taylor did NOT set the next hearing 90 days out per NJ rules.

But other than that he was perfect, right?

So why didn’t MBs crack legal team pursue all those violations committed by Judge Taylor. I’m guessing Bilinkas and Deininger are better versed in the legalities than you or I or @Ekat.

Didn’t people here file official complaints against Taylor on the issue, and got no support from the system higher up? I suppose the judicial review people are corrupt and dancing to JKs tune as well. /s
