Michael/ Lauren civil trial update February 9

Thanks.

Imagine having that much of an arrest record in just one state, never mind the other 49.

Papa Jon has been paying to have his daughter’s records expunged from the various sources accessible to the general public, so if you have screen shots of those charges and anything else, keep them handy and organized, for future use.

There is zero doubt being shot aided her emotional distress. No matter how disturbed / unbalanced she seems to have been before the shooting, nobody can go through a traumatic event like that without emotional scars. To me the tricky part is proving that MB, SGF, or RC are responsible for her being shot

On a human level, absolutely. Surviving two bullet wounds is no joke, and I’m not trying to minimize that.

In a lawsuit, there’s standards of proof that have to be met and she has do that by using medical expert testimony. She opened the door into looking at her mental health status by making the claim.

And I agree - first she has to prove that MB/SGF/RC caused the injury either intentionally or negligently.

Both parents have accounts so they would still read it.

I think the horse is well out of the barn on that front. The internet is forever.

Hmmm. Well, it seems to me like Papa Jon still has some work to do on that front, because it is very possible to find parts of LKs NC arrest record online still. It includes:

Assault with a deadly weapon
Simple assault and trespass
Communicating threats
Harassing Phone Calls
Resisting a Public Officer
A number of speeding tickets
A number of unspecified citations for ? There are a lot of case numbers involved though.

This is all separate and distinct from her NJ arrests that anyone can view via the easily accessible NJ courts database

Is it even possible to get those removed? Aren’t they public record?

People can pay for services that suppress certain parts of their arrest records coming up on different searches. But… getting something fully expunged from all records? That’s much harder.

I have a college friend who paid a lot of money to attorneys years ago (in the early 90’s) to make sure a potential DUI charge was a non issue on all of their records, as they wanted to pursue a pretty specific career path, and thought it might pose a problem in the long run. I don’t know if it is even possible to keep your record squeaky clean like that these days though, given the internet and how many records are immediately electronic.

I do know that there are decent services that suppress negative stuff from popping up in Google searches. But… it’s not too hard to find it, for people who know how to look.

To temporarily change the subject, the Foxtrot comic today seemed somewhat apropos. . .

Some one correct me I thought she shot at her ex husband on a motorcycle, am I wrong?

No. She shot at RG according to court docs filed by the Defendants attorney.

Smells like fear to me.

It smells like typical Jonathon Kanarek behavior to me. He seems to have spent his whole life fixing messes by various members of his family (himself included), and their associates (Robert Guy Goodwin/Jim E Stark/Superman for example).
In their world, it appears, there is no need to just be a productive member of society and obey the rules when you can threaten people or clean up the mess afterward by sending private notes to the judge or paying someone to clean their record.

I don’t know if this has already been posted, but the hospital’s suit against MB has been dropped for lack of prosecution.

What does that even mean? Lack of prosecution? And how is that made into an order? That the mediator made? Huh?

Oh okay, DY explained ot

You can petition the courts to have things removed and some charges get auto-removed after a time, depending on the laws/rules of the state or the plea bargain terms. As for the “services”, you have to pay for expungement from their “records”.

I suppose the Hospital was suing MB for his cost-of-care.
