Michael/ Lauren civil trial update February 9

To your last question that would depend entirely on their fee agreement.

To the first question, your file with the attorney is yours, like medical records are yours. So when you leave the attorney you are entitled to your file that includes all the factual stuff about the case.

Work product (notes, legal research, etc) belongs to the attorney, and may or may not be turned over. Some states require it, some forbid it, and I have no clue where NJ stands on this.

Nagel never answered it.

Wow, she was busy. Good for her for showing up that much.

Thanks for the info!

And it is quite interesting that Nagel never answered the counterclaim but Stone jumped right on it.

I assume there will be new filings by Deininger, Silver, et al to address Stone’s filing - correct?

GAS had no choice. It was probably running on the deadline to answer. He probably either needed to answer, or ask for more time and asking for more time to throw out a fairly standard, boilerplate answer seems silly to me.

That counterclaim and answer doesn’t affect SGF, so we aren’t likely to see anything out of Mr Silver. Maybe Mr Deininger responds, but there’s really not much to respond to and it may be better served to use his client’s money on something else.

I sure wish something would come out about Jonathan Kanarek (@Inigo-montoya) and Kirby Kanarek (@Seeker1) not answering their subpoenas.

If he doesn’t respond, couldn’t someone try to construe that as essentially agreeing with Stone’s request for dismissal of the counterclaim? IOW, “Your Honor, defendant Barisone didn’t object to Stone’s filing, so therefore must be in agreement with it.”

There’s nothing in that answer for Michael to address though. They laid out their claim, GAS/LK said No and asked for a jury trial on the issue (just like the rest of the suit) and the jury will ultimately decide who is right.

But is it funny?? I used to watch the original Night Court and loved it!

I don’t think the intent of a half hour comedy show is ever to be realistic, so I agree, funny is all that matters.

Funny? I’m not sure. I was busy typing LOL. It has possibilities but needs more zaniness. More interesting characters.

Allegedly a lawyer told LK the recordings were legal, right?
I had assumed that lawyer was JK.

I think one has to give a new show a few episodes to develop these qualities. They’re just now introducing characters and the feel of the show.

Do you know the name of the thread?
Can you post a link, please.
Couldn’t find it
Thanks

Ear witness.
Who himself was recorded without knowing it was happening.

I think it was a different one. At least one of the people actively engaging with LK and her FB drama was a lawyer who had quite a bit to say about Barisone and M’Naghten rules, and the whole rest of it on FB.

The big question is did said attorney truly understand all the circumstances surrounding the various recordings, or had they been led to believe that one of the parties being recorded had “consented.”

No matter if the attorney was ED or JK or anyone else, relying on the word of The Queen of Disinformation was/is very, very risky.

I concur.

They had a lot of ground to cover to set up the premise, just in case there was anyone watching who was not familiar with the original show. Hopefully it will pick up steam once they get the initial exposition out of the way.

It sort of amazes me how many shows on TV these days are remakes or reboots of shows that are pretty darn old. This one, Magnum, Quantum Leap, Walker, Texas Ranger, Hawaii 5-0, The Conners, etc., etc.

And the guy who plays Walker has been on TV pretty much non-stop for more than twenty years, starting all the way back on Gilmore Girls.
