Perhaps LK did not want to put her parents to the inconvenience of being a houseguest, however loved, and preferred to stay in a hotel, knowing the hotel bill would be part of the damages that MB eouod liable for. That’s what I meant to say.

Kanarek was banned from residing with her father and/or other immediate family in New Jersey due to Kanarek’s past history of violence, abuse, assault, drug use, psychotic behavior, and the like.

Wasn’t this known about LK in the general circle, too, before the court papers? I didn’t think it was the court papers that suddenly came up with that factoid. I thought people knew that about her. Maybe I’m wrong, but when I read that in the court docs, it didn’t come as a news…dunno

My favorite is apple. I like a good mince pie but no one else in the house likes it, so I don’t make it. Hubby likes blueberry but prefers cake, and my son likes my cherry pie, but not cherry pie from bakeries. I do enjoy baking on wintery days when I don’t have to leave the house.

It was definitely news to me, but I think people always had the expectation such a banishment was in place anyway, because of her known history of being a problem wherever she goes and the Livingston area locals - not including the near/distant family members and friends from the Jewish community - who knew her or knew of her didn’t have anything positive to say about her in the post-shooting/trial/48 Hours discussions, so it’s probable they knew from the local gossip mill that she had been banned from the family home.

once, many many moons ago, when I was about 10 years old, my dad went to New Orleans for a conference and took me and my mom with him.

I made that poor man drive all over creation trying to find a king cake for me. This was immediately AFTER mardi gras and no bakery had any interest in even hearing the word king cake never mind making one.

He did eventually find me one. But I still remember sitting in the back of the rental car going to bakery after bakery.

King Cake season is Twelfth Night to Carnival Day. Once the cops clear the streets at midnight, all things Carnival are over! And that includes King Cakes. (But people are starting to find other holidays for king cakes, which is blasphemy to us old timers.)

The French do King Cakes too. I have had them in the Alps on skiing vacations.

Funny aside. When DH and I visited New Orleans, I wanted a piece of pecan pie but he convinced me that I could get a piece at a pastry shop later in the day. No such luck, and I never go my pecan pie.

On my various visits to New Orleans, I kept thinking I would get some beignets at Café Du Monde. But I think they only sold them in threes, and I didn’t really need three of them. Maybe someday. Lol.

Coincidentally, I just saw Kit Harington (Jon Snow) on a talk show. He said the least enjoyable part of filming Games of Thrones involved the scenes when he was supposed to be riding a dragon.

Kit Kat is always experimenting with flavors. I’m a big fan of the Mocha & Chocolate, and the Dark Chocolate & Strawberry.

I just bought one of the strawberry ones, but I haven’t tried it yet.

There is truly no other muffuletta than Central Grocery! All others are fakes!

I stopped by on my way to the airport several years ago and when I opened it to eat while waiting at the gate, half of those waiting cleared out and the other half were begging for a bite! The aroma isn’t for everyone!
