Middleburg, VA area saddle shops?

Another vote for the Tack Exchange.
full disclosure: I have stuff consigned at Middleburg Tack Exchange. But, based on my experience there, I’d definitely make that a priority stop and allow some browsing time. There was a large inventory of stuff when I was there, but nicely arranged and not randomly tossed and hung hither and yon for customers to dig through (like some other places that take consignments). Prices seemed pretty good.

Moreover, they combed through my offerings and took the perfect and near-perfect of them, rejecting anything that looked used. So I bet if you do find something you decide you “need”, it is likely to be in excellent condition at a nice price.

For lunch, Hunter’s Head Tavern in Upperville mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

For sure Dank’s Deli! And all three tack shops discussed are literally right next to eachother with Tack Exchange and Tack box being within 20 feet. Both stores are a little small where dover is bigger, but this Dover never has the size or color of what you need.

We used to live 35 minutes from Middleburg and visited the Tack Exchange regularly. The quality of the items is excellent, and you can find some really nice bargains. Be sure to check the sales rack if they still have it. Saddles, boots, and horse rugs are in the basement. The thought of that shop still makes my heart flutter. :o

Funny, I was just in Middleburg a few days ago, and hit many of the places mentioned here. Tack shops, Journeyman, cookie place, ice cream stand… The list goes on and on.

I also stopped in at The Chronicle’s headquarters, just to see where my magazine has been coming from all these years. It’s right next door to the sporting museum.
