I am reading that it should be more widely available on 1/1/23! There are photos of it on a person’s head on the MIPS facebook group

Actually not what I said…
What I said in the group was that I had originally been told it was coming out around 1/1/23. It’s out now, so it’ll be in stores soon.

Saddle shop in Phoenix posted on their FB page yesterday that they have these Ovation helmets now, so they may be showing up now in other shops. That’s a big vent! Perfect for the summer in the desert… I had an Ovation for years and gave it up for the Trauma Void EQ3 three years ago. I felt very secure with the MIPS and justified the tradeoff of heavier/hotter/etc. Good luck finding a comfortable fit!
I was due a new helmet this year and tried on loads to get the best fit. I love Ovation schoolers, but had a Trauma Void EQ3 for the safety benefits. This year, I tried all the MIPS models I could: Uvex, One K, CO, and Trauma Void Lynx and Purdus. I got close with a Tipperary Windsor, but from an online forum, wanted to try the Devon. And THAT was the PERFECT one for me! That said, I bought before the Ovation came out, but honestly I love the look of the Devon, and it’s sooo comfy, no regrets.
State Line has them, they are available. I like the look, very nice.

I just didn’t want people putting off buying one til January if they’re out now.
Understand, I get info from brands but I can’t say anything. Whether they change their own plans or not isn’t my business.
I was just surprised that it came out 2 full months early.

Oh, absolutely, and I am sorry I misread! I think it’s a very exciting helmet offering and I’m sure will be flying off the shelves! If I wasn’t on a riding hiatus I’d be picking one up!

I don’t ride in the Ovation Schooler, but I have one for my nieces and nephews when they get pony rides.
I just bought the Uvex Exxential II with MIPS and it seems pretty similar. No complaints so far, other than that I paid $30 more than what it’s listed for on Amazon. Still a great price point for MIPS. https://a.co/2MvtxUJ
