Modern TB to Byerley Turk?

As far as I can tell, Last News is still alive and standing in Ireland. Also, I seem to recall that Twist of Fate has a colt by her late twist stallion.

Here is my stallion’s male line-

i didn’t realize that Whalebone’s Y was different. Are they any tail males through Waxy? Do they have the same Y? Or maybe someone jumped a fence (though it could be a new mutation as well). Interestingly almost all of my stud’s chestnut offspring have Birdcatcher spots. I guess they got them legitimately.

You’re right, of course. Pure TBs with a Roi Herode sireline are (AFAIK) extinct in racing, but not in sport. But, even with the Gem Twist clones, Roi Herode is certainly hanging by a very thin thread.

Re: The Waxy X.
He had a son named Whisker, who is tail male to King Tom. King Tom MIGHT be found in tail male today in WBs in Germany. He is the sireline for Kingdom/King who was the damsire of Fling. Kingdom is in both Trakehners and in Hanoverians, but whether there is a direct sire line left would have to be researched. If there is a direct male line to King Tom, it would be possible to would determine if the mutation happened in Waxy or his sire, Pot-8-os, or in Whalebone.

And there may be WB or TB lines in Russia or other Middle European places that trace to Waxy. Quite a few of his non-Whalebone descendants were exported.

Now could someone explain the numbers. My mare’s dame line start as a 2 then becomes a 2C and my mare is a 2E how does that happen. And what do we care about those numbers and letters and what do they say, are some more rare?

In the TB, the female family was first given a number by Bruce Lowe. Later, Bobinski and someone working with him whose name I can’t recall, broke down the female number families into branches from great broodmares.

Here is the index for FF2 on Bloodlines.

2-c was Atalanta, and after several generations, one of her tail female descendants started Branch 2-e.
