Most durable paddock boots

Ariat round toe lace up paddock boots are the only off the shelf boots that fit. And now they’ve stopped making the lace ups and only have zip ups, which don’t fit because of my high instep. But I’m sure I’ve already complained about this multiple times here.

I’ve had pretty good luck with Ariat Terrains. I’ve used and seriously abused several pairs over the years and they have held up well.

I bought my first pair of Blundstones in Australia back in the early 2000s. Those things lasted so long and held up so well I thought they might outlive me. I’ve had two? pairs of Blundstone and one of RedBack since and none have held up as well, although they still hold up pretty well.

Danskos used to have wood soles (platforms?) when I wore them but that was a long time ago . The Merrills have some type of composite material instead which is lighter and very comfortable but coincidentally while waiting for my train this morning I saw a young woman wearing what looked to be Danskos and they still had the wooden soles.

I’m liking my Ariat Breeze paddock boots. They’ve held up well and I don’t take particularly good care of them.

My experience is that Ariats fit my feet well. I haven’t been able to get a decent fit in Dansko, Blundstone, or Mountain Horse. The sizing of those brands don’t work for me: Danskos and Blundstones are too wide, and Mountain horse is too short in one size and too big the next size up.

I wore Ariat pro (the lines of whatever version they had) paddock boots for years. I was a very loyal fan until the quality dropped off and the boots started looking terrible way too quickly even with good care.

The Konig paddock boots were works of art but no longer available. I have a pair of Kingsley paddock boots that I am going to try for durability but my paddock boots of the last three years have been Petrie and they have held up well. (Just don’t get the back zipper model and use spurs) Petrie outlander through Kittybee on eBay or her Facebook site German tack would be my best suggestion for durability.

I like Blundstones, but they are a little chunky for some people’s tastes.

I have been wearing Blundstones since the '90s, originally purchased in Australia or ordered from shops in Australia, now ordered from Blundstone USA.

The quality of the boots has declined significantly over time. I’m not sure they qualify as durable anymore. My last pair is not that old and I noticed the other day that little chunks of the sole are starting to peel off.
