Movie: The Mustang - Anyone else see it? Anyone else hate it?

Alittledownhill, this film MUST be made!

Spoke to a fellow boarder a few days ago who LOVED this “Mustang” movie. I had just read this thread, so kept my mouth shut, just let her go on about how wonderful it was.

I won’t bother with it. I’ll find “The Rider” and “Wild Horse Redemption” instead based on the comments here. You guys I trust.

seabiscuit was not flowery and such… and it was a great movie.

Secretariat was ‘ok’ but some directors just have to spoon feed the audience which is lazy and self conscious directing.

Redford did the same thing with the horse whisperer… he is not a good director.

I was really annoyed with the Secretariat movie. Yes, his success and syndication saved Chris Chenery’s legacy, but the “bond” shown in the movie…? Gag me with a spoon. The horse she loved was Riva Ridge, who was also a pretty good racehorse, though he came up short, as have many, in the Triple Crown races. Riva was always her favorite. Secretariat was special, but washing the horse on the lawn, singing spirituals…really??? I don’t think so.

Hildago? Mostly fabrication! No such person rode such a distance, no such horse ran in a made up race in Arabia. It was one of the last movies my ma saw . . .she was from Cody Wyo --much involved in her later life with the museum there --ma watched Hildago --her comment? “I don’t recall that man.” Turns out he was probably not who he said he was — Frank Hopkins had no known association with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show --wish my ma’s last movie had been more accurate.

Not to mention the totally ridiculous scene where the horse is so far gone he’s going to.shoot it, then a few.minutes later, it jumps to its feet and gallops on to win!
