I love MTG. I had never heard about it causing burns in the sunshine, but i have never applied it during hot hot summer days. I have applied it on warm sunny days at 20 degrees Celsius and have never had any issues, however, i have never applied it on 30 degree sunny days as its an oil. I have had great success with treating skin issues, and hair growth both in the mane and tail as well as on the body.
But in the end, testing topicals on your horse should be common sense. You should never get a new medicine and apply it all over your horse, whether its a wound cream, or conditioner, or even fly spray. Each horse is different and could have an allergic reaction.
