Musical Freestyle: pre-choreographed/music available?

I have the idea to try Musical Freestyle, lower level movements, but don’t want to spend the big $$$ on custom music & choreography just to get my feet wet. Yes, I know it is best to match beat, tempo, etc to the horses’ movements, but I am wondering if there is a resource for something already choreographed to music I could buy to try? Maybe the CD with the movements are written out like a Whinny Widget diagram, where the music beats match the movement, etc? Is anything like this available? Thanks!

www.marvinsmusic.nl has ‘packages’ you can buy with a pattern and music at different levels. It kind of defeats the purpose of designing a ride to show off your particular horse’s talents, but if you want to get out and ride a freestyle, it might work.

Sorry but

I wanted to start a long topic about why you should “never do this” .
But I don’t have the time to put all my arguments on paper. But let me tell you that this is the veryyyyyyyyy worst way to start a freestyle to music carreer.

Please get in contact with Mike Matson, because I am sure he can help you when you have a very limited budget.

Sorry to say this: but you are definately taking the wrong turns.

Please form your own opinion about the freestyle dressage music that we offer by visiting our website (the english version) www.marvinsmusic.nl/english and listen to the music yourself.

And don’t let Theo’s (strong;)) opinion prevent you from forming your own…

I only wish I could read that site! It looks fascinating!

Theo’s strong opinion is about the fact that horses and riders deserve their own choreography and music. Big horses, small horses, slow movers, fast movers, ponies, thoroughbreds, warmbloods, icelanders etc…

Cutting a long story short: how do you think somebody feels (when they are warming up) that already four other riders have used the same choreography and music. ? And how do you think the judges will score these riders after seeing and hearing the same choreography and music for over a hundred times. (like I have PM’ed you) This only works when you have tons of different choreography and music available and not only a few …and if you still want to go this way you should at least offer a decend computerprogram to change the BPM of every part of the test. And last but not least more up to date music.

For me it’s very simple: when you want to go this (imho wrong way) take your pick out of Mike Matson database ! and start from there.

I think I need to clarify here…and repeat… that I know completely and understand that my horse and I deserve nothing but THE BEST.:D…our own music and choreography!!! But, I just want to try to get my feet wet, and wouldn’t want to use a stock routine in competition…if I decide to compete at all!! I want to try it at home in schooling…try to adjust the beats, etc to match my horse’s and will consider a custom routine should I want to compete or school further! Marvin’s Music looks pretty good for what I am looking for, but would rather pay in USD than Euros !!

By the way, I found the freestyle2music website confusing and not easy to navigate.

Aha a Pas de Deux between Lindasp62 and Marvins Music;)

Linda, because I have to spend 20/24 on tailor made music which fits the horses and riders i.c. my clients, I don’t have time to work on my website trying to sell US$ 49,= freestyles to ignorant people.

And as stated before get in contact with Mike Matson and he will help you with your project.

Furthermore, there are over 100000000000’s freestyles on YouTube, so why don’t you take your pick ?! Dowload the ride you like, separate the music from the video, burn it to CD and off you go.

linda,

Here’s my site if you want to check it out: www.equimusic.com

I think that was totally rude and unnecessary and I take offense. I should think you would want to know about your website status and your on-line, public display of your business. If the links don’t work and it is not easy to navigate, it affects your business. Nothing further to say…except that I would appreciate not reading another post from you on this thread that I started where I am seriously trying to get some “helpful” responses.

Thanks, Mike…you’ve got quite a selection of music…I will look into it further!

Marvin’s music site was pretty cool. For the person who’s never done one before and wants to begin somewhere, this looks perfect!
