The mare I LOFF
My LOFFLY mare
I LOFF her
Last one ~ My chestnut hottie

OOPS! I hit “post now” before I was finished. Editied to add: She is going to be 19 in May and I will have had her for 15 years on June 2nd. We are close, VERY close, and have the bestest relationship. She and I have been through so much together and I trust her with my life. I can’t ride/show her anymore due to DJD but she will always be that specical horse. She would do anything for me, and I her. I just can’t believe how close we are. She produced, for those VERY few of you who don’t know already, a wonderful colt for me, Frodo. He is now gelded, and YES, I DO LOFF my gelding as well. I could have asked for better as far as either one of them is concerned. I tell ya, that mare is a gift, and she gave me the most wonderful gift in the form of Frodo. I can’t thank her enough.

You can deffinitely count me in!!!

I have the most wonderful, beeeyoutiful, girl. She loffs me because I feed (bribe) her, but she is very aloof to anyone else.

The other day, I had a girl at my barn ride her, while I rode another horse. This girl rides well, but Jade likes to be ridden in a very specific way which I have learned (and am still learning) in the 6 years I have had her. At one point, we stopped, and Jade craned her head around to look at me, sighed, and rolled her eyes. It was SO obvious she was none to happy about someone else riding her, that even the girl started cracking up!

Last week, she had some mud that had splashed on her belly. As it started to dry (and tickle ) she kept pinning her ears, and wringing her tail. I finally had to have my trainer wipe off her belly so we could continue with our lesson.

Mares… I LOFF them.

Yay mares!

Here’s a pic of ours over an oxer from her video

I love her.

I have two mares and they are perfect!!

One has a work ethic which makes the Plebs first year at USMA/West Point look like a 9 month picnic. The other, well, you make an appointment with her to ride. If she can fit that in her schedule and you can handle the warm-up, you’ll have a damn fine ride.

I’ve owned geldings…sold 'em all too.

OMom - how do I add the signature line? <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Go to “GO” then “My Space” then “Profile”

In the upper right hand corner it says: “View/Edit Complete Profile” Click on that.

Scroll down until you see the “Signature” line. Enter the text there.

CONTINUE scrolling down until you see the little box “Submit”. Click on that and, Voila! You’re done!

Welcome to all of you mare-lover-come-latelys! I can’t post a pic of my mare, because I don’t know which one I would pick. With only a few exceptions, I’ve only had mares. I only look at mares when scanning horses for sale. I think they’re the best.

The exceptions? A 5 yo TB stallion I bought for $500 and the two colts we got from our last two breedings (numbers 9 and 10: all the rest were fillies).

I loff the way the mares take care of my husband on trail rides, I love the way they interact turned out together, I love the way they “sing” coming home from a long cross-country ride, I love the way they tolerate my moods, I love the way they try and try and try. And I love their personalities.

I will consider myself “bonked” unless I hear otherwise!

<BLOCKQUOTE class=“ip-ubbcode-quote”><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> Oh Lord! What did I start?
<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

You started a mare loffer’s revolution, my dear!!

And I only owned geldings for 35 years. Now I would never give up my mares. Some of us learn late ”" but at least we DO learn.
