My brother just passed away leaving 3 cats

We have a huge house, and currently are cat-less. I do have two large dogs and they are very kind and respectful to kitties. They were raised with cats.

My cats have always lived inside and get fed a raw, species approprate diet. I hope for their sake, a solution is found soon.

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. Thank you for trying to find a soft landing for these kitties.

Try contacting Assisted Living facilities in your area that allow residents to keep cats. Maybe they know of residents that are looking for declawed cats.

It would be nice that they would all be together…

I’m sorry for your loss and hope the kitties find a soft landing.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and suggestions. They are good kitties and we will make sure they get a soft landing. Please feel free to PM me if you do happen to hear of someone who would like to adopt a kitty or 2 or 3! I will deliver!

Thank you for the tip. I emailed them and they pointed me to a number of resources for assisting with private adoptions so hopefully the cats will be able to go from their old home to their new without a stop at the shelter.

It sounds like we need to get these cats to @MunchingonHay. Who’s in for a COTH connect-the-cats road trip?

From where to where?

I need to get the thumbs up from DH.

I am in North Central PA. Not far from i-80. Penn State is an hour or so south of me.

please make sure all local resources are exhausted and I am the last resort. Long distance winter driving sucks.

We have one placed, so only the 2 boys still need homes. Also the orange boy needs to be on hairball formula cat food due to a blockage a couple years ago. It doesn’t have to be the expensive food, just more fiber. That may influence your decision. I had forgotten about that until my sister reminded me. We may have a home locally, but I will keep you in mind should that not work out. I am able to drive the boys out. I am continually amazed by the generosity of the COTH people!

That is great news the sister found a home.

I feed a raw diet, so hairballs may not been an issue with a different diet. Perhaps another COTHer can comment on that since none of my cats in the past have had hairball problems.

It was weird, but he tends to groom himself and his siblings.
