My horse is related to Union Rags!

My boy who ran yesterday (3rd in $4k claimers  ) is a great-great-grandson of Seattle Slew. My girl who never even made it to the track or the trainer is a great-granddaughter of Slew (both of them through AP Indy.)

Once upon a time, we had a wobbler who would’ve been a really nice horse. He was by He’s Tops, half-brother to Dixie Union.

Our filly, as yet unraced, who’s the best of all of them KNOCK ON WOOD, has nobody. Her sire is from a line that’s almost died out.

You can’t leave us hanging–which line?

Gallant Man

5 generations-no relations

We just celebrated our 10 year together. I took him off the track at age 6!

It pleases me that he is tail male to Man 'O War!

That’s an oldie but goodie!

My old OTTB went back to Fair Play twice, through Man o’ War and though his full sibling My Play-I always liked it went back via the ‘baby brother’ and not, say, War Admiral and War Relic (Benny went through War Admiral to Man o’ War and Head Play to My Play.)

I have a Holy Bull son in my barn, and a Malabar Gold son coming this weekend.

I need pictures!! I’ve got a Malabar Gold son, and know someone with an MG daughter. Both horses are athletic FREAKS! They are fabulous. And almost identical… he really stamps his babies

I don’t normally find many TBs who AREN’T related to my guy in the first 5 generations. He doesn’t have any inbreeding until you get maybe 6 generations back.

He and Union Rags share Mr. P and My Charmer (Seattle Slew’s dam). Go back one or two generations and there’s Bull Lea, Hyperion, Nearctic, Princequillo, and Mahmoud between the two of them.

Ok well on two fronts I can “win” this game…

Lad is a uncle to Congaree, produced from his half sister, same dam.

And I got to ride Dixie Union one time when I worked for Richard Mandella.

Dixie came to Santa Anita for a nuke scan shortly before he went east and won the Haskell.

I tack walked him in the shedrow with the foreman leading us for 45 mins. That was the bestest “pony ride” of my life!!!
