Thatās why I never ordered the u balance. Way too expensive for a trial and we donāt need the manganese, ours is already enough in hay alone.
Good luck with the hay harmony, let us know how it goes.
Call and ask if they do samples. They do custom blends so they may very well be able to send a sample
I fed the Ultra Cruz hoof supplement to my new guy at closer to a double dose per day. It didnāt smell that far off from the Uckele product. While he could use some extra Cu/Zn I was looking for more of an all around hoof supplement to be fair. And heās much pickier than my last guy (who ate Uckele powdered or pelleted no problem). Maybe this pellet had enough alfalfa smell to make it acceptable. I also canāt really wet his foodāsome water right at time of feeding is ok but if anything gets soaked/mushy itās a NO
This is an interesting idea. I may use it! Thank you!
Has anyone tried Mad Barnās copper/zinc supplement? my gelding likes their MSM and 3-Amigoās products, but turned his nose up at pelleted Omneity.
This looks like a great option!
Hi! Any updates on the Hay Harmony supplement?!?
Iām curious too! Iāve been making my own Cu/Zn supp from copper sulfate and Zinpro 40 for years but I can no longer source anything but a giant bag of Zinpro that would take my two horses like 4 years to use and the farmer Iāve been splitting the bag with is retiring.
My horse that I bought it for refused to eat it. It does have a fairly strong odor and he hates powdery things. Iām currently feeding it to another horse, who will tolerate about 1/3 - 1/2 a serving. The original horse eats Uckele copper and zinc pellets.
Late to the party, but maybe try dumping a packet of Sugar Free Maple and Brown Sugar instant oatmeal in with the supplements? That often works for my picky one.
Hi all,
Well the update (as it were) is not very exciting; mare would not eat the Hay Harmony (I gave it away), BUT!, she decided that she LIKES the copper and zinc pellets again, and has been eating it in her grain ever since.
Horses!
