My new Tennessee walker

Okay guys its been a couple weeks since she came home. She doesnt have much of a personality, yet. She is pretty respectful. She knows amish things like Gee, Haw and walk on. Unfortunately my sister’s horse broke the fence separating the two of them so until that gets fixed we take turns putting the horses out. Her gelding is extremely buddy sore which makes taking her out to work frustrating since he starts throwing himself at his stall walls. I have gotten on her a couple times but not a ton, enough to make sure she is actually safe to ride. She seems pretty respectful but doesnt know leg aids.
I took a tour of the boarding barn I am bringing her to and I think it will be perfect, very quiet, only a couple boarders and a good size indoor/outdoor,

The farrier was out, she handled it beautifully, farrier thought her hooves looks good. Took her shoes off and gave her a trim.
Working on getting her a healthy balance of feed and hay.

Sounds like Sadie is coming along nicely:)

She’s got one more move to get thru. Once you get her to the new barn and you are able to spend more time with her, her personality will start to show itself:)

Also really great news the farrier is happy with her hooves:).

I’m a late arrival here, but very glad to know you’re enjoying your horse so much!

If she’s very biddable, she may have been a kids’ horse. Amish-trained kids’ horses for the really little kids are great IME. A friend had a Morgan mare who’d been with the Amish for a few years. She would always put her head wayyyyy down to be bridled, like she was expecting a very small person to be doing it. My friend got her as a first driving horse, and she was very road-safe.

Thats really interesting. I could see that especially since shes a little small. Got a nice saddle for her. Working on fitting the bit better. cant seem to get the right size.
