NBC site: Streaming ALL of the Equestrian events!
Rats. I can’t download it on my work computer because it has to be approved by “administrator.” Anyone know how I can get around that? :stuck_out_tongue: (Not a problem on the laptop at home, but since most of the horsie events will be going on while I’m at work…)

I suppose I could just bring the laptop into work, but then how would I get any work done??
Is there a functional difference b/w not getting work done b/c you’re goofing off on your laptop vs goofing off on the work computer:D.

Can’t help you with the administrator thing. We have the same issue at school (unless, of course, you have a Mac, against which all of the Windows big brother stuff is impotent). Sometimes surprising people are administrators, or at least have the password. You might even know one. (For some reason I seem to be one at school.) Failing that could you somehow make access to Silverlight work- related?

Yippee!!

With the help of an understanding soul, I was able to get the necessary software downloaded. (Take THAT, you pesky administrator, you! :p)

Work? What’s that??

Mac Powerbook PowerPC - any way to view??

Is there any way to view any of the online streams with a Powerbook that’s from the dark old ages of PowerPC chips? I keep getting an annoying (and mystifying) message that only Intel Macs are accceptable.

Or should I just go out and buy a new (Intel) one?! (if only…)

Yippee! Silverlight seems to be working for me.

Now I just need to find a geek who can connect my laptop to my big screen TV! My brother did that once before, and I’ll have to figure out how he managed it!

Afraid they’re only supporting the intel based macs (I also have an old G4 powerbook, but bought an intel Mac Mini a while ago, so according to my Apple guru/pal, I’m good to go on the mini but not the powerbook) … sorry. Guess you’ll have to beg, borrow or steal (well, maybe not steal) another machine!

dressage is on yay!!!

Go Kyle!

Kyle is our YR coach, and an all around good guy. What thrill to see him live at the Olymoics! Madison Park is fancy, but quite the challenging ride.

Can I just say that this is incredibly cool. I have a horse cantering across my computer screen and a live commentary (by whom??)

Okay, I don’t think that Irish horse should have beaten Parker by so much… Parker was full of himself and tense, but he wasn’t completely blowing movements like that… are the judges drinking some chinese tea?

Clayton’s test… WOW. Gorgeous!

ok I dont know why but I could not get a schedule to come up on the NBC site.

I found this:

http://results.beijing2008.cn/WRM/ENG/Schedule/EQ.shtml

which doesnt tell broadcast times, but at least days of events. This may be a double post or maybe it will help someone else like me who was struggling with NBC’s site.

woo hoo, love live stream, TOO COOL!

How come I can’t hear the commentary?? I see the written transcript by there are no voices in my head! (Well, at least not from the headphones. :stuck_out_tongue: )

HA! So I’m not such a dressage dope! I was right in thinking that Gina just had a very nice test.

Hey, is there a plug-in needed? I got Silverlight downloaded, have some video and audio feed, but only get a second or two and then it has to “buffer” for 20 -30 sec… I miss the whole test.

I’m on satellite with the extra $$ for extra bandwidth… so that shouldn’t be a problem. Anyone know whats up?

Piaffe, I’ve had buffering problems from day one. BEFORE it was live! It drives me crazy, but I guess I’ll take it in order to watch live

PiaffeDreams,

I have the same problem. I downloaded Silverlight, The video comes up for a second or two and then it has to “buffer” for 20 -30 sec. And I miss the whole test. It’s driving me nuts!

Anyone know how to fix this?
