Need advice on buying a golf cart for horse shows....

I’m planning on getting a golf cart next week, and I’m trying to figure out which one is better…I’ve rented gas carts before and years ago I drove electric ones…

Gas ones are noisy
Electric aren’t but I wonder about sneaking up on horses accidentally…I would obviously be careful with that…but I wonder if being quieter would be better than a noisy gas cart.
This would mainly be used at horse shows of the dressage variety
Opinions?
Thanks!

I sure would be highly annoyed at your driving a polluter around the fairgrounds, especially if you stopped to idle near me while chatting up someone you knew - cough/gag! Please don’t buy the gas one. There’s no reason people need to hear all about it, either. The silent electric one would be the kindest way to deal with that one.

I’d recommend the electric, just because it’s silent and clean, plugin for charging is just about always available. The only advantage of gas is long running time away from an outlet, which won’t happen at a show.

I much prefer the gas models actually. More power (I use ours at home on the farm with hills) and nicer to drive. There seems to be no “hitch” going from stop to start or reverse as with an electric cart. No one I know idles a golf cart anyway, you take your foot off the gas and they stop immediately. And there is virtually no pollution. At least with the newer versions. Ours is 15 years old now and works and looks perfect.

I have a gas powered golf cart and it will indeed idle. It is however quite the beast, a Club Car 295 Carryall

It will carry 6 bales of hay at a time and would probably carry more if I could stack them higher. I think the capacity is about 1200 lbs.
Probably not what you want cruising around a show ground

We took a bunch of kids to HITS in Saugerties for Lendon’s Youth Dressage Festival a few years ago, and were among the dozens of people who rented an electric golf cart for the weekend. It was indispensible, and I didn’t see any problems with any horses.
