Need girth recommendations - UPDATE!

I have used this girth on a number of horses and really like it, although none have been as challenging as yours.

I understand the why of the shim. I am asking the why of the saddle tipping back. I can think of exactly two reasons this would happen (someone like jaybird660 might be able to think of more reasons). Does this horse have a very uphill build?

Yes, she is half-Saddlebred and is very uphill. In fact when she’s standing alert and looking at something, you’d swear she was 16hh, not 15.1hh+.

I think the slight curve of this one plus the gel might do the trick - fingers crossed…

Have you looked into the leTixerant girth made by Mikmar. Is a bit pricy but it has worked wonders for my little mare with the same saddle fit problems.

I have a horse who is similar and the only girths that work on him are the ovation acugel (this is not the girth you bought and is not angled), the le tixersnt, and the stubben equisoft. The equisoft has been the best, but it is also a $300+ girth.

LOL, we’re using it backwards? Really?? LOL, go figure!

ps - the mare really likes the Ovation gel girth, i love the fit (backwards, lol),i love how squishy and cool it feels and how the edges at the end are rounded. It contours her belly like a soft glove and I was finally able to tighten the girth without getting crusty bitey faces!! It’s been two rides so far, fingers crossed this sticks!!
