I applied for a job at that DEA site about 12 years ago- it was quite interesting seeing all the feds walking around heavily armed… didn’t take the job, it had something to do with talking to pilots and I don’t hear very well.
In California you own reasonable airspace above your property. So basically, shoot it.

I am sorry to see this about your gelding. The drone is an invasion of privacy. If you shoot it down be careful because if it is using a combustion engine it could explode when shot and might damage you home if too close. The electric ones are quite small.
