Just wanted to extend more hugs. My dear friend also had to put down her first horse about a year or so ago- he was young, but had developed back/neck arthritis so badly that he would have explosive, unpredictable, dangerous reactions, so she let him go. Really tough & another really crappy first horse experience, but there was solace for her in the fact that she was able to love him & improve many other aspects of his life before the end.
