New horse

See Y’all at the Blue Saddle Inn!
I want to get there in time for the 1st Aid Kit giveaway!
Does that kit include the Majik Colic Paste & Meaningful Mane Beads?

NEEDS A NAP:
Your daughter has a point.
I thought it was my move from the Big City to the farmette that had me chatting up random cashiers, customers, etc.
Guess it’s my advancing age :D
Or as my daughter says: “Mom, they don’t care!” But she’s wrong. Living down south, everybody chats! I learn a lot more about them than they do about me. Cashiers usually open the door so they can talk about themselves in turn. Which is fine. I’ve learned some interesting stuff.

OP, thanks for your explanation of the acreage and the people living on it. From my vantage point of reaching a slightly advanced age, I can only advise: don’t overshare. It never turns out well.

None of my fish ever lived long enough to achieve an “age.”

I will credit that website with pointing out some important stuff for my life. For example, I am really working on recognizing my fog so I can move forward.

In googling Ali Saareef this popped up:

http://www.elowrah.com/private-treaty-news/

Looks like he might have a deformity due to an injury at birth?

ETA: Oops! Looks like Reynard already found that
Is it just me or did the website go “poof”?

A ranch hand for five acres???
Yes. He lived with them before they even moved to the property.

It’s still working for me.

What a devoted ranch hand. That’s rare in this day and age.

Yes. Hes a good friend of theirs. And hes a good hard worker.

Plus he never has to look for a place to live if he just keeps moving around with them. How smart.

Yes ill admit we can be rather chatty down here. I just donr tolerate people very well. Especially when they start right pdf being rude and nasty. It is what it is though. Everywhere you go there will always be that few in the crowd who need to make fun of others to feel better about themselves. I appreciate the people who have actually answered my questions.

Actually, the farm where my daughter boarded her first horse was about 26 acres. It was sold, and the new owner kept buying up adjoining lands, expanding it to over 60 acres. As they cleared land, old single and double wide trailers emerged that had been squatting in the woods for years - with people living in them. It was the strangest thing.

Came in handy during Hurricane Isabel, as when we finally got my daughter’s horse and her friend’s horse back after evacuating, the barn owner was missing in action - had moved all her horses elsewhere to wait out the storm. Some of the guys who “emerged” from the woods offered to hay and water and feed the horses, and keep them in the non-compromised pastures. And they did a good job!

That fog, though…

 ChasPonyCat, can we be friends? I would also like to recognize my fog.

I know the proper response to this thread.

OP, your horse is soooooo beautiful. I wish I could have a beautiful horse like Ali. All my horses are just rubbish compared to your horse.

(There. That is how you feed a troll properly. You guys just need to work harder at it. Trolls make nice pets, if you say the right things and feed them properly. Just don’t feed them after midnight. Especially when you’ve had wine).

A FIVE year old reading!!! Ha ha…
Rather like their having homework, depends on the kid. I could read Dr Seuss-type stuff at three. Of course, I was still four or five years shy of starting lessons (on Arabians, as it happens–older, bomb-proof lesson mares and geldings. No stallions.)

The stallion listed is real (he has no show record) and has one offspring registered (who has no show record). I can also see the breeders and current owners and the current owner matches with the website so that much is true (horse is real, owner is same as person on website). Stallion appears to be alive or at least nobody has submitted a record saying otherwise.

He’s worth nothing as a gelding at his age and very little as a breeding stallion since he has no record of producing foals. With no show record, even in halter, it’s quite likely he isn’t even sound given the leg injury spoken about on the website.

My Arabian was sired by DA Valentino…top halter sire in the world in his hay day. He was worth, exactly, less than I paid for him after 12+ months of professional training and my training, his purchase price and moving him was a heck of a lot less than $20k. I skipped a lot of pages but, worth is only valid IF, someone writes a cashable check in that amount, otherwise, it’s just a number.

Of course! I’m planning a “Recognizing Your Fog” workshop. I’ll add you to the list.

Yeah, you’re gonna want to go back and read those pages you skipped

Whoever admins are please just go ahead and delete this thread.

My Arab’s sire was “Premium Arab 'Racing Sire of the Year”’ 10 times, has a bronze statue of him in London, and is “world-travelled, having been born in Russia, sold at auction in the Netherlands, brought to Britain, raced in Qatar and other Gulf States and also in Europe.”

And my Arab was $Free.99

He’s still worth exactly what we paid for him 10 years ago.

OH, and he doesn’t have any leg deformities.
