New usdf tests?

When will the new USDF tests come out? This Dec or next? Sorry if this is a silly question but google has been zero help! I think it is in line with the FEI tests (so every 4 years w/ the olympics) but USEF just released new tests so I was curious!

I believe the USEF tests come out every 4 years…and the 2015 tests were released Dec 2014, so should be next December. USDF only does Intro and the 1st-4th level freestyles (and maybe the rider tests?). The USEF tests that were recently released were the eventing tests.

USEF tests come out every 4 years, not every 3. The current tests are the 2015 tests, so the next round will be 2019, which start being used Dec 1, 2018.

The USDF follows the same schedule as USEF, putting out the Intro and Freestyle tests in the same years.

As mentioned above, the new tests that came out were the USEF Eventing tests.

Ah, darn, you’re right…I was thinking the 2011 tests came out in 2011, but they were release in 2010…I was convinced I was getting away without having to ride this iteration of 4-3…ugh.

I too was waiting on new tests, for some reason I was also thinking they were coming out soon. I am planning on going out at fourth level at the end of next year, and have no desire to ride 4-3! Lol! Glad to know I wasn’t the only one who got the release dates messed up.

the show season starts in December of the year proceeding, so the 2018 show season starts on dec 1 2017

From the USEF website : The 2015 United States Equestrian Federation Dressage Tests (…) will be effective December 1, 2014 through November 30, 2018.

The recently released new tests are the ones for Eventing Dressage, I believe.

It’s done that way to coincide with when the FEI changes the upper level tests. The FEI makes any changes every 4 years to get the tests out a year before the Olympics, so that the riders and horses have time to adjust. I can’t remember the last time they changed the GP, but they do occasionally change the tests from PSG through GP.
