New Veredus xc boots
How do the Kentucky boots size in comparison to the Woof boots? I have a large horse…the new ‘Smart’ Woofs in large were not big enough. We are somewhere between a M-Lg in the Premiers behind, Rony which, doesn’t thrill me. Those Premier Larges must be for a giraffe!
the Kentucky boots are not Big but the hinds might work for you. They were too short up front for my big horse but not that bad behind. Just a bit too short. He fits in the large Premiers. The Kentucky boots fit my TBs well that are 16.1-16,2. What I don’t love about them is the edges of the straps are all fraying.

How many events or schoolings have you done in them? I’ve been looking at these but that is worrisome.
Not enough that the straps should be fraying the way they are. They started to fray after only one or two uses. That said, they are still very functional and work well. They look fine and I’m still using them just not thrilled with the cost of the boots they didn’t hold up better. I have had them over a year. And would say maybe used them 15 times. Horse got hurt for a bit so they were not used as much as normal for me.

Here are the Kentucky boots on my horse from this summer. The strap edges were fraying but you can’t tell (I cut anything really bad). And the fraying isn’t in a way that I’m concerned about function. Only complaint is just because of the cost, I would have hoped they looked like new longer.

This horse is an OTTB and just above 16.1.

Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the info. If it makes you feel better (or worse?) I think they changed the strap design. I can’t quite tell on my phone if yours have the new or old style straps, but, I did read they improved the straps.

My horse is 17.1; finding perfectly fitting XC boots has been annoying. The other 16.3 TB was a great match for the PEs in M; and I’m a big fan of the feel of the boots leather & neoprene in PEs, never rubbed Mr. sensitive to everything.

They look really nice but as usual with Veredus - super expensive!!! Why do they have to be so much more than the other boots with similar technology? I’d love to buy a pair but I just can’t justify paying that much more for them. A friend of mine said it was because they have to go through US distributors - I wish they would go direct and pass the savings on to the riders who would try them if we didn’t have to take out a mortgage!!!

I agree - nobody wants to deal with all that. Mind you, I tape my boots as do most of my friends so XC boots really don’t bother me in terms of excessive labeling - nobody sees it anyway!

I did get the boots and they look great. The labeling is really not bad in person and will not be noticeable on the horse. Can’t wait to test them out…but given there is STILL some snow and ice on the ground and where there isn’t is horrible mud…I don’t see xc schooling any time soon. The snow/ice should be gone by this weekend but the inch+ of rain we are expected to get is going to make the MUD bad. Hopefully the grass will start to come in soon!!!
