Maybe DW will post the video she put on FB of Sabrina playing in the hospital. She is fiesty and is clearly a fighter.
Ya’ know, sometimes, us COTHers can get bitchy with each other, but when the chips are down, there’s not another group of people I’d rather have on my side! You ladies are awesome!
I do think that Sabrina is going to be a big girl and those back legs are lonngggggg which really isn’t helping.
I had a very contracted foal (front legs especially) and it was to the point that he was unable to stand on his own. We did oxytet and splinted him religiously for about 3 weeks. He grew into a completely normal young horse and sold to a sport home as a two year old. It is amazing! how much things can change if you give it a good effort.

I’m one of those that has trouble following written instructions for something like this. If this was my foal even after the wonderful, detailed description JB gave, I’d still be saying ‘Huh?’
Only Delta can say if the expense is worth it, but I would think it would be less expensive to fly Jackie in for a day and let her demonstrate how to do the flip/flop thing (or to fix splints, depending on her choice) and show Delta the exercises than to lose the foal.
Big jingles for you Delta and your sweet foal…I’ve had enough experience with foal leg issues that multiple vets deemed “hopeless” to share your pain & frustration.

Biting nails a bit now…
She posted pics and video on FB yesterday…not much progress but she’s getting her fresh air and sunshine and is able to run around a little bit. I believe she and JackieBlue are trying to work something out.
She posted a video on FB either today or yesterday of Sabrina playing outside. She also posted a pic of her legs with all the wraps off. Sabrina is definitely full of life and is a fighter, but the pics scared me a little…hopefully, she’s headed in the right direction.
For us non-facebook people…
