“Note to Self” my (so far happy) experience buying (a yearling! 🤦🏻‍♀️) from Bowie Livestock

These photos make me so happy. You have done the best job with her. She is so fancy!

Fancy is the word! She looks like someone’s purpose-bred show/sport horse now. She seems to have a lot presence already. And her neck has transformed! (well, all of her has, but I’m with hoopoe - that neck!)

Wow she looks GORGEOUS and so happy and comfortable! What a transformation.

I haven’t ridden a fancy young TB in years. But I watch that video, and I remember what it felt like. It was like ice skating, or gliding over the ground. The memories put a smile on my face. Thank you.

I have been trying to find words to say how nice it was to see her and how wonderful she looks, but could not find any good enough.

Your post reflected on what I was also thinking, how nice it would be riding a horse like her, gliding along, smiling wide. Thanks! :hugs:

She just glows. I love her little sassy head shake that says, I’m not scared of you, leaf, I am Nosey and I am fearless!

I’ve said from the beginning, that I think this filly was purposely and thoughtfully produced, and then something happened. Death, divorce, financial downturn, something happened that put this filly and probably others at risk. She exudes quality, not an accidental genetic fluke. I wish I knew where she came from.

I love this filly and am looking forward to watching her grow and develop.

I’m also loving the way the filly has progressed. She’s grown into her head. As far as her history and your conviction that she was more than just a backyard breeding result, why not reach out to some of the other racing forums (especially ones having to do with breeding, etc.) and make inquiries there? Give her history as far as you know it, what other horses may have come in with her, and maybe even include photos if possible. A long-shot, sure, but you have nothing to lose and something might come of it.

You have done a marvelous job with her. And if she’s around 15 hands now, she’s going to be a big girl.

Nosey is a lovely filly. I’m so glad she got a chance with you.

How is your knee coming along?

So much better thank you! I just started riding again last week, a bit earlier than recommended, but things have felt pretty good  Still sticking to my faithful older mare for now, who has zero tricks and is very reliable.

Be careful! Glad to hear you’re healing up nicely. :slightly_smiling_face:

Have loved Nosey from the moment you took a chance on her. I’m so very happy to watch her blossom into the beauty you saw when others could not. Well done.

She could well be the quintessential “bought a mutt for $xxx, winning every show in sight” story.

Then you should write a book.

She’s flat gorgeous.

Yes! I’d like to see all your before and after project horses! How is your pony jock doing?

Pony Jock got her own pony for her birthday in August, a 22 yo Welsh/Tb who has done a little bit of everything and still has lots to teach her lucky young rider.

This was at Hunt Night, their first show together and kiddo’s first time jumping 3’.
