“Note to Self” my (so far happy) experience buying (a yearling! 🤦🏻‍♀️) from Bowie Livestock

Trouble with the young uns…they grow. She looks leggier and longer in the torso here then before. Sooo nice to see that correct crest release with upper body right where it should be.

I stopped growing at 13! And her mom is quite small, so hopefully she’ll stay pony sized for a good while

Fun story about the Pony Jock. Yesterday was our hunt’s Opening Meet. I’m nine weeks out from my knee surgery, so I’m staying in Third Field for a while. We always have professional photographers out for our opening, so the plan was for Pony Jock to go up in First Field so she could jump the first two coops right at the start, just to get pictures, then come join me in Third.

Well.

There must have been a miscommunication. Pony Jock got jumped a bit loose at Coop #1, then nailed Coop #2, and galloped out of sight in the middle of a pack of hard-riding adult First Flighters.

And that was the last I saw of her for an hour and a half

She finally dropped back when she said her pony was getting a little tired. Yes, I was jealous. Pony Jock has quite a few fans in our hunt club, so she was well supervised, and the pony is an utter professional, so I wasn’t worried. But I was envious for sure!

Pony Jock is rider #6 in this video.

“Miscommunication”.

 She was having fun and I’d guess one of the adults maybe egged her on to stay in first flight. I know I would have. What a nice rider, and what a great time!

Watching this video makes me feel young again. Pony Jock looks awesome as usual and as if she’s having a blast. I wish I could click my heels and magically be riding alongside her.

Glad you are riding a little bit again. Wasn’t Thanksgiving your goal date? Somehow I knew you wouldn’t wait that long to get back in a saddle, if at all possible. Happy that you are healing well!

They look great together!

I also snorted a little bit at “miscommunication”. (We were all pony kids once!!!)

That is just AWESOME!! That kid is living the dream. So wonderful of all of you to make these things happen for a deserving kid! I am also very envious of her pony

I didn’t think I could be more jealous of that kid, in a good way, but there we are.
