'Novel' Equine Hepatic Parvo Virus, Ponyboy Has Tested Positive..Now What?

Leukopenia (low WBCs) can be common with certain types of infection. It’s also not uncommon for certain WBCs (for example, neutrophils) to go up to fight initial infection and then to be low after they are depleted.

Would they be low for over 2 weeks though? When he was sick back in november his wbc count was barely existing then too.

This is true–particularly with viral infections.

The parvo is technically a virus from what I understand about it, so that would fall into his issues then right? I am just hoping my vet can find a way to test or figure out if it is a something that he can somehow get out of his system, or if this is going to be a monthly check everything, or do a liver biospsy even though his liver seems fine…?
