Oh, Aunt Esther: Manolo Blahnik paddock boots

Now now, it is my first vacation since Aachen 2005. Really, I’d swim over if I had to. I have blocked out the entire day next Thursday for tack stores - the Hyporama store in Rotterdam, which is my favorite along with Divoza, opened a new superstore about 20 minutes from where I am staying. And there’s another big one across the street from that! Can’t wait!

Will take many photos of the foxhunter thing, and also of Laurens and Ollright if I manage to make it down there.

Those Manolos though … I’m in love!

Now- remember me…daaaling…when you shop- you know I told you what I’m lookin’ for…!!!

Passier I understand. John Deere I understand. Manolo I don’t understand.

Now, those are some tasty boots…

Shame about my champagne tastes and beer budget… sigh…

I wonder if they’ll turn up in Nordstrom’s Rack anytime soon?

While they look like they may be functional in the barn, would I want to walk thru poop in shoes that I paid $1,250 for. Ummmm…no. I’ll stick to my Ariats that I’ve had for 6+ years. Let’s face it, you can say, “Oh but I’ll never wear them in the barn.” And we all know that’s not true because there is ALWAYS one last thing you need to run into the barn to do before you go ANYWHERE!

I always get a kick out of clothing that claims to be “equestrian chic.”

Totally unrealistic is more like it…let’s get some shirts with green slobber marks on them and black specks from being sneezed on and jeans with dirty backsides and knees and marks up the sides from wiping ichthalmol on them, and maybe some purple Thrushbuster stains. And don’t forget the polar fleece jacket with hair permanently imbedded in it and gloves with holes in them.

Chic? No. Realistic? Yes. But I doubt I’ll be seeing Madonna dressed like that anytime soon.

At those prices, why not get one of each.

Now that would be a helpful link - the day they turn up at Nordstroms.

They definitely were not designed to go in my paddock. Perhaps the one at Churchill Downs.
