Here we go!
Anyone know why Dani Waldman isn’t riding?
She posted on Instagram that her horse came out NQR and the team vet agreed he wasn’t up for the challenge of the team event.
John Kyle mentioned that the open water jump could only be used for three of the four courses—I have no idea why, I didn’t hear if he explained it further.
It was already in the course the first two days, so it should be there tomorrow.
She was also at the games as an alternate.
At a regular horse show, they can tweak it a bit as they see how the competitors handle things. I would think it’s the same at all levels, but I don’t know that for a fact.
Here is the order for the team final at 6:00 AM Eastern on Saturday, 8/7.
Thank you for the start order.
I’ll be staying up since it begins at 4am my time.
Congratulations to the USA team. Silver medal. Great riding by all. Well done!
Also to team Sweden Gold, team Belgium Bronze.
Just under a second of time between gold and silver.
I thought this was an interesting read. All In was formerly ridden by Nicola Philippaerts with shoes. Such an awesome horse. No pretension, no showiness, just knows what he’s supposed to do and does it with humility.
It reminded me of the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon.
Lots of excellent photos here, including many candids behind the scenes.
Interesting comments from Robert Ridland after Tokyo.
