Olympic Team Show Jumping Concludes Wednesday, August 17

It didn’t do him much good though, at least in the team results, whereas Kent jumped clear with one 1 time fault and got a silver medal out of it. But there is still the individual event which should be a great competition.
It did do him well. It helped get him and his team to a medal jump off. Canada has some unlucky rubs. Team Canada, not team Eric. 3 other people contributed to that score. USA and Germany also had some hard rubs but the fences stayed up. That’s just the how the sport goes.

It also did him well, as it solidified his reputation as one of the greatest in the sport. Even Hickstead didn’t go into the individual final on 0. Shows a lot about the caliber of Fine Lady. Hopefully Eric will get on the podium. It sucks for him that all riders are put back on 0 faults, since his performance is not equal to someone who came in with 10 faults but that’s my opinion.

Did anyone catch Beezie and Lucy on the Today show this morning?

I did! It was just Lucy though. Nice segment with some great clips.

Germany just won the bronze in the jump-off, all three of their riders rode clear. France won gold, USA silver.
Thank you! I missed most of it, but saw quite a few rides before the jump off.
I can’t believe France won gold! Woohoo!

And just for kicks, because I missed it the first time around and I love listening to the commentators

Le voir en direct était formidable!!
Je peux me réjouir pour la France et pour le Canada, mais au concours individuel, là, je suis pour le Canada… La France a assez de médailles!!

Understood maybe two words of the French commentary on the link above, but it was so fun to hear the excitement in the commentators’ voices!

I bet it was great to see it live!!!
I’ll be happy with medals for Canada, the US and France! Heck I’ll be happy for anyone who can medal at this level

Yes Virginie Couperie-Eiffel (Gustave Eiffel’s great-grand-daughter) cracks me up. She herself was a top level Grand Prix jumper rider and I love how she can’t help going “go on, JUMP it!” “whoa - whoa” or clucking while commenting!

I like how it was all in French except for the #DreamTeam.

I just love the excitement from the French commentators…

Happy Individual Finals Day!

Very excited for today! I’m not saying who I HOPE tops the podium, because I don’t want to jinx anything.

I’m way to superstitious.
