I thought I would share some things I had learned. I have been speaking to Vicki at My Fine Equine she suggested that horses can damage their colons, exasperated by chemicals, ie wormers etc, she advised it can take 6mos to 1 year to heal. She suggested her product Fortified plus feed and a 30day mop. Seems a lot to me like an equalizer type feed and charcoal.
I also looked at Comfort Gut…pricey as heck if it doesn’t help.
Anyone tried these or have ideas?
I dewormed my guy last Friday… It was time but as per usual he has about a week of worse dribble butt. Manure still formed but man I am sickening of butt washes…
Note: he has gained about 50lbs since his teeth were pulled/floated and is much better to ride. No flank sensitivity or chomping at the bit.
