I use a Collegiate on Bailey. I have no idea what the model is. I picked it up used at a tack sale.
Both girls go in a wide Frank Baines.

I commonly refer to mine as my 900# border collie
Oh, baby, you got it right there-- brains and energy, the ultimate combination!
Our whole Foxwin family goes best in Countys-- we’ve got a couple of Competitors and just got a Connection added to the tack room. They have the width we need, while managing to be short enough for our stout, short-backed Morgans.
They are probably just as challenging as any other horse to find a proper fit with, but they’re so darned intelligent, that they’ll give you an incredible amount of grief until you find the right one-- they know there’s got to be something more comfortable out there for them, and it’s your job to find it for them!

ack! truer words have not been written!
Mine just outgrew my county

thanks idtogo, I recently picked up a BC that seems like it’ll actually fit. Most of the saddles that I try that don’t fit my morgan I lend to my friends who have irish draught or hannoverians and my saddles fit their horses just fine  :)
buck22, my Morgan is ridden in a Wintec 500 with a medium wide tree and it fits him great! His jumping saddle is a Dominus.
It took me 3 years to find a saddle that fit me and him both!
Kobie, thank you! I have a dominus for him too that fits him like a kid-skin glove… I feel awkward in it though, so I got a tad coffin crosby equilibrium that seems to have a similar tree shape and fit just as well… I hope that one fits me better too… I love my dominus, its so luxurious, but I just haven’t been comfortable in it yet.
Thanks all for the saddle suggestions!!!
Right now I have a 14 year old mare Misty’s If You Please “Belle” by Cadaceus Joshua out of Walnut Lane Misty. Shown training level, but mainly endurance horse- Here’s Belle and I several years ago at a Christmas ride.

Yearling Morab filly ELM Tabula Rashah “Charisma” (ELM Grand Ambishahn x Misty’s If You Please). This is the little brat a couple of weeks ago:)

Willowcroft Melody “Esme” (DJJJ Ebony Gold x Ugh can’t remember dam name)- 5 year old rescue- definitely a dressage prospect- can’t wait for the weather to break so I can start with her. This was Esme the day that I went to look at her at the rescue. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3152/3027823456_a661b18d0b.jpg?v=0
Also, just recently lost my gelding Gideon’s Choice (Prince of Gold x Walnut Lane Misty) who I’d shown to 2nd Level. This was Gideon last year- photo credit to S.K.Andrew http://www.flickr.com/photos/rockandracehorses/511557118/
Oh and as far as my saddle goes, I have an Ortho-Flex dressage saddle that fits all of them and me beautifully!
I got my first ever Morgan this July and just LOVE him! He is Bluebird Royal Heir out of Iron Forge Royalty and Scandias Shimeree. Barn name is Oz, . . . you know . . . “Buebirds fly over the rainbow, troubles melt like lemondrops lalalala . . . and he is definitely my happy little bluebird. See? I’ve already got some of my freestyle music - um . . a few years from now haha! He is 15.2” and 5 years old. We are working on canter over the winter (needs lots of work, but coming along well and I’m in no rush to produce a competition horse) and moving out and freeing that shoulder in trot more and more over the winter. Ooooh so lovely!!! Because I’m an ammy, we’ll probably do a few training levels to get our feet wet and then see where we are.
This is from our Christsmas card. He’s such a silly 5 year old and pocket pony that I just had to include when he grabbed my scarf. Pocket pony? Nahh that was my TB. This guy is a lap pony! I’ve never had a horse who wants to interact so much.

Saddles:confused: I’ve just sent in a tracing to a Custom Saddlery rep in hopes I can fit both him and me for the next couple of years. I’m as picky as he is and boy it makes it tough! Not one of my three Eng. saddles fit him and I’m NOT hefting that Circle Y ever again, even to get us by while I look for a saddle. In the meantime, it’s work in hand and he’s getting the hang of what I’m asking.
Bridles are another learning experience. Haha, here I was so amazed at what I saved on shoes and feed after working so much with TB’s:lol: The WB browband is just a little too big and the full is too small. He has to wait on a custom bridle though! Besides that new WB sized browband looks so beautiful on him.
I have a 5 year old Morgan gelding. He is a geek. Curious about everything. Fantastic to work with. All around good guy. He is by Issues and Answers out of a Park mare. His brother was the world champion western pleasure in 2006. Lovely boy.
Love my Morgans–I owned and shown them for 20 plus years! My latest is a coming 6 year old Canadian bred gelding that I purchased as a yearling. Best mind ever! I initially showed him in hunter and western pleasure at the Morgan breed shows, but recently started showing dressage (training level) at our local dressage shows. We both have been enjoying the new challenge (with good results too–avg in the mid 70’s). No dressage pictures yet, but here’s a link to some others pics.

For someone asking about saddles, I have a Duett Fidello (Trumbull Mtn Saddlery–great to work with even long distance)
I’ve had Morgans off and on for years, and made a big commitment to dressage and Morgans … let’s see, 14 years ago. After two sad outcomes (a shattered leg and a 720 degree twist, both in six year old horses) my boy now is my heart. He is mostly Lippitt, some Brunk, sire is Equinox Beaubrook and dam is Coreen Ashmore. He is solid Second, schooling Third and Fourth and we’ve started him on piaffe in long lines.
He is FULL of opinions but is an absolute hoot to work with. He can go from “this is too hard I won’t do it” to “look at this neat thing I thought up to do” in about five minutes and just gobbles the work. I got him at four, virtually unbroken, and I won’t pretend it’s been all moonlight and roses, but at 10 he is headed for higher levels than I can achieve. Ask me about his piaffe-levade transitions . (They are why we don’t attempt trail riding any more.)
He also jumps like a bird. A four by four oxer? Clear it by a foot. At 15.2.
I use a custom Schleese. It’s cheaper than buying a new saddle every three months as he changes.
I’m a new Morgan owner too! So now I have a little black fruitcake as well as a big orange fruitcake–couldn’t be happier with both.
The new guy’s papers haven’t shown up yet–said to be coming, and I trust the folks, who are at our barn. Part of his registered name is “Trafalgar”–ring any bells out there?
He is quite aged (17-19?), black with a little white on his nose, about 15-2, and just the most metrosexual fellow you can imagine:-) He is ALL THAT. The incredible long neck, the tiny little gorgeous head, the attitude…He can just blast through third, but his current job is getting me through first level.
Tougher in some ways than the big WB mare (in terms of insisting that I do it right) and a fantastic teacher.
Also afraid of the barn cat:-)
Hello Morgan lovers!
Well, last year I started taking lessons after a 15 month break from serious riding, and found a new Morgan place not too far from my house.
I abslolutely fell in LOVE with the little Morgan mare that I got to take lessons on. She had never been ridden dressage, but was SO willing to please, kind, intelligent, athletic and with just the rignt amount of 'Go". But not spooky in the least.
Standing on the cross ties, not much to look at, a rather plain head. In her early teens.
Had been national champion Morgan trail horse when she was I think 4? But a dream under saddle.
If I could affort to buy her, and they would let her go, I’d be in horsey heaven.
Has anyone seen the video of Audacity on youtube? I wish I knew how to post it here.
If you do a search uner Morgan grand prix dressage gelding, you’ll find it.
I LOVE that horse, and watching his rider.
Happy Holidays and best wishes from Kansas.
Kansasgal, the rider on Audacity is Cindi Wylie and is my trainer!! She is excellent and a lot of fun to ride with. She keeps telling me I can leave my little morgan in her barn anytime…
Audi is a neat horse, not very big but full of attitude and presence!
Cool!

Cool! Wish I lived closer, I’d have been over for a visit by now, for sure.
Is there a way you could post Audii and Cindi’s Youtube video to share on this forum?
I wish I already knew how. I’m sure all you Morgan lovers would be inspired!
I think I’ve probably watched it at least 3 dozen times over the past 8 months, since I discovered it.
Best wishes and Happy Holidays!

There are a couple more vids on youtube of Cindi riding Audi in competition, doing I-II, from earlier this year. If I’m not mistaken, she’s competing at GP now. I chose this video to put here because the music is fun! It is also embedded in my COMH Morgan Lovers group page. Enjoy!
I have spoken to Cindi briefly, via e-mail…she seems to be super nice! She told me Audi’s other half is probably TB (no papers, but 99% sure) which makes him the same cross as my boy…which I think is just cool!
Katja
Thanks!

Thanks for posting this. Yes, I love the music, they make dressage look like SO much fun.
I love how Cindi’s pony tail bounces straight up and down in passage. The whole video is like a breath of fresh air.
