Thanks everyone for your replies! I will add these to my shopping list for when I have the new saddle. Am waiting because I may end up with a brown dressage saddle and would want brown leathers.
I LOVE my bates webbers - no buckle under my thigh and they look great! I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to use regular leathers again; they just feel so bulky and uncomfortable.

I do not think I would ever go back to regular leathers…
I have the Wintec Webbers on my Barnsby and love them - no hassle, no fuss. I just wipe them down whenever I am cleaning the saddle - they look great and I love not having the extra leather - especially since my Richard Davison doesn’t have stirrup leather keepers!
You can get the Prestige ones on brown from Equus Now
Love my webbers. No buckle bulk under my leg. I would never go back to regular buckle-at-the-top stirrups.
I’ve owned the Bates, Wintec, and Prestige “webbers”. The Bates and Wintec versions are OK. If you want leather I’d go for the Prestige as they’re much nicer than the Bates. I’ve grown to just get traditional leathers w/ flat buckles (Prestige are my favorite; I don’t notice them at all) as I like to be able to quickly run up my stirrups (and I like the look of traditional leathers more). JMHO.
Love them! I’ve had the Bates version for about 1.5 years. The holes started stretching, so I just got a pair of the Wintec Pros. I like them a lot, and I think they will last much longer. Even if I only get 1.5 years, I’ll still buy another because I like them so much more than regular leathers.

I’m not a fan. I like to be able to run my stirrups up to put my saddle away or to lunge without having to unpin and repin the T-bar. I personally don’t notice the stirrup buckle under my thigh-- just used to it, I suppose.[/QUOTE]
The webber website has specific instructions for running up the stirrups with pictures:
