OSPHOS experiences?

Oh my, can you imagine trying to get urine samples from horses?! I am sure it does happen with kidney or bladder issues that are more involved.

Yes, it does. It’s also the primary way they drug test horses at shows. My horses have been tested many, many times. It’s just a cup on the end of a pole, with a little screen over it. The tester just sits and waits, then springs to action to get the cup in the stream in time.

I used it for my horse’s back. Recommended after bone scan for back issues. My horse has been on vacation for about 2 months due to suspensory inflammation but I can tell you his back feels remarkably better. But, we did change up his front shoeing and I can tell you I do think that had a lot to do with it as well.

OP states her horse is 20. I would not use it on one that old, regardless of health. Remember things a younger horse or person can be okay with, an older horse/human may not, even with perfect bloodwork.

My gelding was a racehorse that won 6 times and was in the money more often than not in his 22 starts, so he must have made a lot of trips to the Test Barn. I wonder if he was traumatized by the experience in some way, or he was just naturally bashful and the Test Barn made it worse. But in the 14 years that I have owned him, I can count on one hand the number of times that I have seen him pee anywhere other than his stall or his field, and he really doesn’t want anyone to be watching! He will hold it until he is shaking if he is somewhere that he deems ‘unacceptable’ for peeing.

So, did you opt to treat with Osphos? And if so, was treatment successful?
