If you’re interested in Daniel Boone and frontiersmen, there’s Fort Boonesborough. There’s a reenactment this weekend (Sept 25-26), the Siege of Fort Boonesborough.
If you’re into arts and crafts, especially Applachian, take a drive to Berea. Lots of craftsmen and shops and very nice little restaurants. The Boone Tavern has a wonderful restaurant and is staffed by Berea College (jackets required at dinner for men).
