outfitting the truck for the dog

Oh ER, what a cutie in your profile pic! Still a work in progress - thank god her little crate still works. I was SO disappointed that our Orvis outlet has closed! When did they sneak THAT by me?! BOO!

Thank you! She knows it!!! Her favorite horse at the barn is the 17+ hand TB/Draft hunt horse…she likes to lead him in from the field…and he lets her!

PWD pup is like that - and has tried to lead my TB. Kind as he is to her, I wasn’t going to subject him to leading by a 12 week old pup who likes to unexpectedly channel her inner pirate, so I held the shank too. And talk about knowing she’s cute - surprised her head fits through the door! hahaha.

Bailey didn’t start leading horses in until she was 5 or 6 years old… until then she just ran around with the other farm dogs. Then realized that lead ropes are like giant rope toys. And her buddy, Bravo (the above mentioned giant horse!) has one of those giant rope toys!

Any update on how to outfit the PWD pup truck? Because obviously its pup and pony’s truck…you just drive it

I’m definitely the staff of pup and pony - no doubt about it! Haven’t outfitted the truck yet: I’m hoping she won’t outgrow her soft crate - and it holds out - til she gets over her mowing phase. At least I hope she gets over it.

The hammocks seem to be the best bet. My inner Martha Stewart is suggesting I make one out of a baker sheet to match my front seat covers. How hard can it be?*

  • The beginning of a zillion projects, of which about 25% are ever finished, and all of which end up costing way more than they’re worth. hahaha.

I finally admitted defeat and splurged on the Orvis hammock linked in my OP, and got it a few days ago. It’s gorgeous. The larger size is a little big for the seat of my 16 Silverado 2500 ext cab, so must be for a crew cab, but just the right width so I’m keeping it. The pup wasn’t sure at first - she’d rather ride in front with me with her head on my lap (as endearing as it is unsafe, TBH) - but seems to have decided she likes it.
