I don’t really understand the point of the zipper /lace combo paddock boots? I dunno they look strange to me. Anyway it’s totally personal preference, you can’t tell under half chaps. I prefer laces for the better fit, had my old Ariat cobalt performance pros forever, just got new Ariat heritages to replace them.
Thanks for all the input! I’m going to head over to the tack shop by my work and try out both the zipper and lace up options. My last paddock boots were lace up and the laces broke within the first year (only riding 1x/week), but like mentioned previously, it’s easy to replace broken laces. I did have a friend mention those paddock boots that are the combo laceup/zip. But as these are purely schooling I’m going for a low price range to save $$ for tall boots later.
