painting / polishing hooves for show - which product do you use?

They have “Neutral”, which is clear.

Hmm, I was wondering about that. Sounds like it might be an idea. So apply neutral shoe polish, then buff a bit? Makes sense. I might have to try that out = ) Seems like it would make a nice non sticky coating with a hint of sheen.

Zactly !

How do you remove the shoe polish afterwards? Do you let it wear off on its own or do you use something specific to get it off the hoof?

I love grooming tips and tricks. Can’t wait to get my pony all shined up from winter and ready for a show.

Seems like the shoe polish would probably wear off on its own. And I can’t imagine leaving it on until it wore off would cause any issues.

from 4 years of literally spit shinning shoes, a good ‘toe’ shine will last for maybe two days. maybe really though a buff will wear down on the same day, and you are talking about light use compared to heavy use directly on the sand.

I give two three days in sandy material to wear off, little longer past that.

It doesn’t take long to wear off and the wax doesn’t damage the hoof in any way. In fact it probably helps it.

Very cool! Adding shoe polish to the list, along with that PINK stuff from the other thread…

Haha, I know! I’ve got to try that stuff. My horse has a pretty wimpy tail (appy), but still, that stuff sounds delicious.
