congrats to Jessica Phoenix for the individual gold[/QUOTE]

Whoot Whoot! Atta Girl!

Hooray! Are we a power again?

Eventing dressage scores ranged from 43.9 to 73.5. . . 30 points. This is fairly normal for most events - national or international.

Consider Selena and Hawley were on the Canadian 2010 World Championship Gold medal team, on different horses - yet both of them had refusals on course. At WEG Buck, on the ‘NO-MEDAL’ US 2010 World Championship team, had refusal on XC plus a rail in stadium. This time he went clean. Any of the US or Canadian horses or riders could have been sick, come up lame or completely fall apart on course.
Just goes to show ya’ nothing in life is guaranteed.

What I found most encouraging was there were 10 teams and 5 were able to finish with a full team score.

I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I have also been selected as a Canadian pan am team rider.

The Chronicle’s Mollie Bailey is on-site in Guadalajara for the duration of the Pan Am Games, and is reporting on all three disciplines.

She’s got some great cross-country photos and coverage here http://www.chronofhorse.com/article/all-us-riders-double-clean-cross-country-day

Also, Lauren Billys, a California rider who was representing Puerto Rico, has been writing a fantastic blog for the Chronicle website from the Pan Ams. Check that out here… http://www.chronofhorse.com/category/tags/blogger-lauren-billys
