Paris-Texas Quidam de Revel clone

Does anyone know if there are any foals by this clone ?

Did a search but couldn’t find anything.

I read somewhere that he died as a five years old.

Now I am not sure if they have used him as a stallion. I wonder… pure speculation but his semen could have been sold as coming from Quidam de Revel himself and nobody could know the difference.

…because there wouldn’t be a difference

Well this is my point. Buyers will never know the difference because the DNA is the same. However there is still controversy regarding health issue that could be transmitted to future generation. I am not an expert but from what I read I would not used semen from a clone stallion before this has been clarified.

A lot of clone animals had unusualy short life… and Paris Texas death was not publicied. It is said that he died from an accident !? If someone has more detail I would be interested to know.

Well… I have Googled aplenty and found nothing. Which makes me think something has gone awry. If the animal was bouncing around the field healthy, had been started under saddle, or produced offspring I think there would be news of it somewhere.

Looks fishy to me… Let’s only say that it would be convenient to let people believe that he died in an accident so they could continue to use him ‘officialy’ as QDR semen. This would entilted the foals to be registered in most Stud book not only Z…

Now this is only my thought and I could be dead wrong.

I was always told they were passing off the semen of the clone and that is why many people were wary of semen

Well they better be wary.

I have received a private message about a rumour. I look up on it and look what I found:

http://www.st-georg.de/news/detail.php?objectID=9976&class=6

Google translation:
''The gray stallion by Quidam de Revel Quadros (Quimorado) has been temporarily taken out of the breeding operation. That the Holstein Association reported on its website. The gray colt was second in the performance test with 129.37 points and reserve champion in show jumping (136.6). From this base 741 and the Olympic stallion Cardento has evolved.
“Some of his foals have abnormalities detected in the eye,” has reported by the Holsteiner Association in its message. On demand in the association leadership, the ST.GEORG here for more details.

Seven foals were partially blind one-eyed or born. Now, investigations are on. Scientists, including the Christian-Albrecht-University Kiel want to research, find the possible causes. As long as the mold is no longer used for breeding.’’

Paris-Texas would only have been a yearling at the time of the conception of Quadros, but semen can still be used from a yearling. Anyway this is only adding up to my doubts and I would never use QDR semen or any stallions who would have a clone.
