People foods that are bad for cats?

A cat is an intentional hedonist. Who am I to project my values onto him?[/QUOTE]

OMG that is fabulous

Replace corn (or whatever) with Cheetos and chocolate and now we’re talking about my kids. Do they get to eat those things? Yes. Do I throw up my arms and say because they like them, I should base every meal on Cheetos with a side of chocolate? Ummm… No.

Strange thread. What is wrong with feeding cat food to cats?

I think I can safely assume that most of the people on this thread do feed cat food to their cats. But some cats like interesting or odd treats too. My Hobbes is apparently obsessed with watermelon. No, I didn’t replace his cat food with watermelon, I don’t feed him watermelon daily, but boy does he like it as an occasional treat.

Like the “canned corn cat” Hobbes seems to prefer watermelon juice, though he’ll eat the solid part too. I found out about his watermelon love on accident, after leaving out a small watermelon 1/2 that had been mostly scooped out, there’s my cat, head buried in it, happily licking on the bottom.

He’s an orange cat too. Maybe they have more “exotic” food interests…

I dunno. Our goats love a treat of corn on the cob, leftover potato chips, corn muffins, bread… I certainly didn’t change their diet over entirely to junk food, but they do get treats sometimes. Am a little  as to why supplementing a cat’s diet with a non-toxic treat now and then would be a big deal?

This has been very educational! Im glad my cats arent the only ones who loff people food.

And mvp, I think youre right…ive asked this before! I had totally forgotten…whoops. Maybe I should try that nifty search feature next time!
