Petition in favor of FEI and Kittel
Yes I am and quite proud of it. So you happen to seem to advocate both (although you have somewhere said RK wasn’t ‘your cup of tea’ so maybe you just can’t make up your mind what you are for but just what you are against) why not let it sit at that?
I don’t know anything about you. I’ve shared plenty of personal information here and elsewhere. Why do you have this reformistic urge of trying to erradicate any other opinion but yours? There is this smart thing called to agree to disagree.
You keep on in your microcosmos, I hold on to mine. Nothing wrong with it is there?
Again I don’t live in a black and white world. Yes I have said RK is not my cup of tea but I at this point cannot go as far as some and scream cruelty and it should be banned. I’ve always said people are entitled to their opinions but if you are going to be snarky to me don’t be surprised if I get a tad snarky:D I also try to live my life being FOR things not Against things. Kinda like Mother Theresa:)

I will say coming from you that I try and erradicate any others opinion is quite funny. I’ve read your VERY opinionated posts on doping and riders such as IW etc.

Really? You don’t quite sound like her but it’s good to hear you’re working on it

yes you should try it:winkgrin:

You know that the money goes to the site that hosts petitions and has nothing to do with supporting your petition or cause, right?

I think anyone who cares about the welfare of animals has a right to sign a petition against blatant abuse.
But this isn’t a campaign against abuse that results in arrests and/or legal action. This is a campaign against banning RK in the dressage warmup ring. If it is banned in the dressage warmup as a result of this tirade ya all are on, one can RK to their heart’s content at home. So therefore, I think people that aren’t members and involved in showing should have no say in what happens in the show ring.

And no, I didn’t think my 10 bucks went towards the cause. I thought I had to pay in order to vote. I guess I got suckered in if that wasn’t the case.

Obviously, haltatz is another “Theo-account”.

Stupid.

Ton–thank you for signing.

To EVERYONE: you do NOT have to pay anything to sign this petition!

Ton- PM me and I will try to get your $$ back from the petition site.

I signed.

Ok canyonoak and Nero you are part of the axis of evil:lol:

LOL, nothing new to me, as an Aussie who never supported the war in Iraq I was in the axis of evil camp then too, I’m an old timer!!

Well that sucks. Sorry about that. I don’t agree with the petition but I do think that site is very deceiving about the donations at the end. Shame on them and I hope you get your money back.

On the other hand (and this is veering off topic!) I do think that requiring a payment to sign, even if a nominal $1, would help add some validity to the online petitions. Anyone can sign under any name and that doesn’t help either side of the cause.

WHERE on the petition site is anyone being asked for money?

I have gone to the site several times, using the link in my first post and do not see anything about donations/money/etc etc.

I picked this petition website precisely because it seemed simple, straightforward and FAIR.

the link is: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/YesKittelFEI .

(make sure you include the . after FEI .)

It may not come up for you since you started the petition, but after I signed, it took me to a page asking for a voluntary donation to support the website. I just clicked off of it (cheap, cheap!)

It was my fault for not paying more attention. After you sign your name and provide your email, the next page is where you can donate. At the very top of that page, it says that your signature has been recorded. I missed that part. It looked to me like I couldn’t register my name unless I paid. The $10 box was already checked, so I just let it go through that way. I am not going to go to the poor house over losing the $10. It won’t be the first time I ended up signing my name too fast and getting stuck for some money.

I think when it comes to petitions about dressage, those signing should be a member of USEF/USDF. The anti-RK bunch have everyone and anyone signing up.
So are you trying to say that only people in the US can have a say on Rollkur??:lol:

Rollkur is not my cup of tea, but I have seen FAR FAR worse cases of so called “abuse” than Patrik Kittel! People swinging around on curb reins, while digging spurs into ribs, and then when the horse resists (propping, or a buck) getting beaten the crap out of with a whip. THAT is abuse. I don’t think I can sign as I haven’t seen all 90 mins. If I did, then I would have an informed decision. A tenth of the time he was supposed to have worked for is not enough for me to have an informed decision IMO.

The horse did not look upset to me, the tongue issue could (and seems to me) be completely seperate from the rollkur. Hell, I’ve had a horse get his tongue through his bits before, and it certainly had nothing to do with Rollkur!

At this stage I am more in the Kittel camp, than the anti-rollkur camp. People do pull out the pitchforks and torches very quickly, without having that informed decision that I believe people need to have (not to mention an ounce of knowledge for good measure!!!).

" People do pull out the pitchforks and torches very quickly "

honestly - if there are people doing this it is a very small percentage. because the issue is not about him. the issue is much much bigger than him.

i did read that he was getting threatening phone calls and that is just scary and wrong.

Sometimes I wonder- what you all would be - without your STRONG opinions - about each other- about how to train a horse- about how you all know what is really bad for a horse or not…it seems another big dressage drama that is evolving…Kittel didn’t harm the horse - he didn’t do anything that was horrible- some like it some don’t - but apparently many take it as a whistle to start beating each other up…over details and crap - like in a long marriage-where you kick the same old issues around…sad and uninspiring - and sadly very paralyzing and bad for Kittel…everyone- take a step back and reconsider…!

See? Didn’t I tell you PETA would address the matter if it wasn’t solved amongst horse people? Ah, forgot you are probably not a horseperson that’s why you keep hijacking threads on this equestrian forum lol. Maybe you are a PETA person and stirring the pot to get it up the agenda. How can we know it’s not who you are? Do you even have live horses? An identity? Who are you please to accuse others all kinds of things?
Nice…I guess if people don’t agree with your opinion, you take it upon yourself to make accusations with no basis in fact. You state in the above comments, “who are you please to accuse others all kinds of things?” You are guilty of what you preach to others by that response.

This thread is not about you furthering your agenda. If you don’t want to sign the petition, then continue to contribute to the other threads. The OP asked nicely that this thread is for people who wish to sign a petition in support of Kittel. Be nice and respect those who may disagree with your opinion. Is that so hard?

I don’t know anything about you.
Well, you seem to think you do as evidenced by your accusations/opinions that you pointed out in your response below:

8 Linda van Zon The FEI better could spend their time setting up a system where these fat ladies in the USA are only allowed to ride elephants.

Well, there are some truly brilliant comments on the petition. This was one of the more entertaining. There are also witticisms from Iama Moron and Urall Evil. Impressive.
