Where did the microphone broadcast to? Just loudspeakers or did you somehow get the signal direct into the phone?
Just loudspeakers. It was in an indoor but even through the other end it was very easy to hear. Here is a clip I put on youtube so you can see how great it worked.

Super, thank you!
How did you keep the Pivo taping you when the other horse rode in front of it twice? It did a great job though!
You wear a bracelet that is connected by wireless to your phone. It was amazing I thought!
I am guessing that was probably a Pixio/Pixem, not a Pivo. The Pixio/Pixem uses a bracelet and several little beacons set up in the corners of the arena to track you. The Pivo doesn’t have a bracelet.
Oh no, wow, so sorry about that! I swore that’s what they told me it was.
I bought the Pivo and it was horrible. It couldn’t track me to save its life. I sold it and bought a pixem, you definitely get what you pay for.
IIRC it works back to 6S… I have a 6 plus and that’s a no-go…There is a list on their website
So question to the Pivo users, does it just record all the time? Or can you get it to somehow start recording and stop recording while you ride? Like, I don’t want a 30 min clip?
I would think you could carry the remote and turn it on and off? I haven’t tried it that way though.
I’ve had my Pivo since May. LOVE it and use ALL the time. The FB group is awesome to post issues and updates are frequent. I rode almost 50 minutes today and it only lost me twice, but as soon as I went by, it quickly picked me back up again. As far as I’m concerned, for the price and what’s out there, it’s the best thing you can find.
Edited to add that I use a Samsung Galaxy S10+ with mine
It has a remote that you can use to start/stop recording. However, there is no real obvious sign whether it is recording or not - you basically have to look at the phone screen to tell. So, I think it would be easy to think you were turning it on when you were actually turning it off and vice versa. I tend to record my whole ride and then go back and edit it and only save the parts I want.
It does now have a beeping 3 second countdown.

Oh, good to know. I haven’t updated my app recently.
My instructor lives in Florida and I want to try remote lessons this winter. Do either Pivo or Pixem provide real-time lesson capability?
I’ve had mine for a few months now. It’s hit or miss. It was great for a while, then this most recent software update it will be following me and then just randomly swings away. Or I’ll pass In front of the door with the light coming in and it decides it likes the door better than me. It’s so frustrating.
Mine says it’s recording and then I only get 1 minute plus out of ten minutes of active recording. What am I doing wrong?
