Placement of girth outside girth line

thats good to hear about the equisoft girth! I have not actually seen it on him, my trainer sent me the photos. I have been trapped in end of fiscal year hell at work. Hopefully I will get out tonight or tomorrow. lI plan to stick my hand down the channel in the back and see if it is making good contact across all of the panel.

The billets are hanging in a much better place than the other saddle. It seems pretty well balanced front to back. If it is stable (not rocking) on the pony’s back and comfortable for you to sit in, ask your fitter if it is within “flocking distance” of a good fit. She should know how much flocking could be added or removed in any places where more or less seem to be needed.
I have the same model for my wide, short backed horse and it has worked very well for her. With the equisoft girth.

Thank you for the comments LongTimeLurker. It is encouraging to hear of someone else using this model successfully. There is no rocking at all on his back in a static position. I rode in it just at a walk briefly last night. It seemed balanced, seat was confortable enough, blocks were not obnoxious or in the way (otoh I am not sure they would help much if pony acted up but…main thing is they do not hinder me). Looking forward to a proper ride tomorrow.
