How fantastic!!
Good for him, and good for the people who made that grant possible. :)
That is the nicest kid who truly cares for his animals. They could not have found a more deserving recipient.

How did the mustang do?
He finished pretty far down in the OF class but I did not see his round. He’s a very nice pony though.
And yes Matt Bravo was awesome to finish in the top 20 OF in a class that was 150+ ponies.

Does anyone know if Bailey Harach and her pony Homer are okay after their fall in the large green o/f?
It was a rough fall but she got right up and took care of her pony

I saw an interview with the lady who was head of the grant committee (?). Evidently they were not planing to start the grant award until 2016, but then Matt came along and he was the absolutely ideal candidate so the Gochmans came up with the money to get the grant going this year.
What a great kid!!! I bet that other trainers will now take him under their wing and he becomes a top rider.
ummm nobody calls him Matt…but anyway, he is a truly deserving candidate, and he had the time of his life!

I loved the USEF network day 2 and day4 ? wrap up feature on his very proud dad too.
His dad is a truly great horseman, and Matthew is a lovely young man.

Really? I’ve been calling him Matt for years. I’ll have to apologize

Are she and her pony okay? They both seemed shaken up. I agree that her immediate attention to her pony was heartwarming!

They’re fine.
I was beyond impressed with Bailey Harach, there were dozens of falls this year and she was the ONLY child I saw that checked her pony, fixed her tack, and ran her stirrups up. The fall was nasty and I am so glad they are both okay.

Ohhh sorry. That is what he was called in the articles I read.
I know…but you know how it is when you actually know someone, and the articles get it wrong? He truly is a neat young man, I give him lessons on occasion and he is like a sponge! He always tries 110% and loves the horses with all of his heart.
