poop in the ring

I once boarded at a barn that had a troop of cute little monkeys that went about picking up horse poop (every little bit) and depositing it in a bucket. It was absolutely fabulous. Unfortunately one day a rogue monkey decided that he would rather fling the poop at other monkeys, horses, people, vehicles, what have you. And as you know, it’s monkey see, monkey do so they all started doing it. After that they had to get rid of the monkeys.

Just an FYI, a horse diaper can be a legit option.

A bag the attached and catches the manure, frequently seen on police and carriage horses in cities.

This wouldn’t be big enough for my horse. She likes to make really big poops!!!

They come in draft size, that might work

Must have sent them to my current barn (the flingers). I don’t get why no one else there is bothered by the pulverized poop in the $$ yoga mat footing, but it sure bugs me.

While this is tremendously appealing, they would then actually be my monkeys.

Well, well, well. Guess what policy the new barn management unveiled today?

There is something wrong with my horses, they won’t poop in the ring, ever! They wait and do it in the aisle when we are done…

Mine does it in the cross ties, on the way to the ring and about SIX times in the arena. Then he’s done for the day. Stall cleaners love him. “His stall is so clean.” UGH.

We don’t have an arena but I wish that some of these courtesy type policies were in place at my barn! We are a relaxed, laid back, most retired or trail riding barn (I am the only one who rides consistently, or english, or shows lol). But when some of them get back from trail rides they will take out their poop out of the trailer and leave it in piles in the barnyard…where everyone walks. There is one gal who clips her horse 2x a year and just leaves like, a whole horse size fur pile for someone else to clean up. NO ONE else sweeps, not even after the farrier with all the hoof trimmings and shavings. Sigh. So, me, having a midge of OCD, usually goes behind them and does it, but not very happily. I just can’t live that way!
